Australia Day is a great excuse for a piss up but ANZAC Day makes you stop,think and appreciate.

To anyone who hasn't been to a dawn service start this year and you will never miss one again.

Especially Brighton as the diggers come down Jetty Rd in the dark toward the beach and silence apart from people clapping.

Last Post doesn't get any better than that.

Then off to the RSL for some frothies.

I'll be at the dawn service this year, but no frothies for me unfortunately!

Yes it is, and in WW1 when the Anzac legend was created we went to war to fight for the "mother country", England

Indeed. My grandfather who served in the English army, walking alongside a tank and assisting to liberate concentration camps would disagree that the Australian Army got all the shitty jobs.

One thing is for sure, none of us would be here to have this conversation, like it or not that day is part of all of our heritage, if the Poms hadn't invaded, the Irish, Scotish and many other cultures wouldn't be here now either.
