We walked in with singlets and thongs and there wasn't any security on the door at all. Turned the wrong way and ended up in the hotel.OnSong wrote:Pag wrote:The best footy trip I've been on by a fair distance. The Patriach wrote:OnSong wrote:Footy trip Pag?
I concur. Loved it. How funny is the Darwin Casino?

Did my high school years up there - Challenge any one to name a school with a better view from their Science Block, especially in tourist season, Budjus everywhere![]()
. Then worked up there from 2002-2005.
If you want a laid back easy going lifestyle, thats the place but it does get wearisome after a while as it pampers to a drinking partying lifestyle. if you want to be an eternal 20 something its all good.
Yep I miss my wharf, chicken satays, the markets, the sunsets over Nightcliff beach, the Darwin Cricket Club and mates. I don't miss the 4 Cs of the NT News: Crime, Crocodiles, Cyclones and "came here once" (for the 36th year in a row the NT News predicted a cyclone at christmas time today), the shitty customer service, paying through the nose for everything (it has to come from down south), being away from my SANFL, and being away from family.
However stay up there for a couple of years and you'll have friends for life. I reckon I'm closer to people up there than down here and I've been back for four years.
