Another win to Ford, this time Jason Bright and Mark Winterbottom, great end to the race with Kelly fighting it out right to the end.

This may be a stupid question but can someone explain to me how Holden can chop and change drivers between teams? I didn't think there was supposed to be that sort of collaboration but I assume its OK.

Results:

1 6 Ford Performance Racing J.Bright/M.Winterbottom Ford Falcon BA 161 03:22:16.2954 64 1:12.0430
2 15 Toll HSV Dealer Team R.Kelly/T.Kelly Holden Commodore VZ 161 03:22:16.4540 116 1:12.0792
3 888 Team Betta Electrical C.Lowndes/J.Whincup Ford Falcon BA 161 03:22:34.0142 64 1:11.9586
4 17 FirstRock Home Loans W.Davison/S.Johnson Ford Falcon BA 161 03:22:39.1147 64 1:12.3329
5 14 Team BOC J.Bowe/B.Jones Ford Falcon BA 161 03:22:39.8524 64 1:12.4886

Drivers championship:

1 Craig Lowndes 0 160 268 282 302 304 288 314 300 2,218

2 Rick Kelly 0 305 234 224 266 282 286 284 310 2,191
3 Mark Winterbottom 0 125 296 268 250 252 244 228 320 1,983
4 Garth Tander 0 270 232 274 266 282 318 136 70 1,848
5 Jamie Whincup 0 310 164 202 190 180 212 166 300 1,724
6 Russell Ingall 0 250 290 250 172 240 272 188 60 1,722
7 Jason Bright 0 130 198 132 278 216 294 146 320 1,714
8 Steven Johnson 0 235 240 220 164 150 128 266 290 1,693

At the end of Bathurst I think each driver drops their worst result which looking at the above points will benefit Lowndes, Winterbottom, Tander and Ingall.

After 8 rounds its 5 wins to Ford and 3 wto Holden.

somthing to do with a legal loop hole, i think it would have somthign to do with Walkinshaws involvment in both teams, the reason for it was that Holdens 2 best chances for the championship would be driving together, if they have a problem its going to be bad for both drivers, so they swaped them around so if one has a problem, they will still have a driver up with a chance, as opposed to taking both out of the chmpionship race.

great finish to the race though.

Kelly's Parents own the licences to HSV Toll also, the move has backfired on Tander though

Somehow I think this loophole will be closed next year as the majority of teams both Holden and Ford are unhappy with this arrangement. These complaints caused an emergency board meeting last week to discuss the issue

According to the C10 broadcast their infomation suggests that it be changed for next season with an outside chance of it being changed for Bathurst althought they did stress that this was unlikely
