Round 5 trades

Postby nuggety goodness » Mon Apr 19, 2010 1:13 pm

well i am traveling ok with 3/3 from round 1 in my leagues, but need to up the scoring though to maintain my record. looking at some possible trades this week...

i want to get Judd or Boyd into my side at the expense of Jetta/Trengove/Martin so i'm looking to downgrade a couple to pocket some cash and be able to trade one of them in for Rd 6...

so this week i'm looking at possibly getting in Rockliff/Podsiadly and Schmidt

outs are probably Westhoff/Ballantyne and Everitt

Schmidt looks like he's going to continue getting games but Rockliff and Pods i'm not sure who will play more. i'm already carrying Relton so i don't need another passenger in my forwards...

will be waiting for team on thurs/fri...
I am not talking to you for 3 minutes because you punched me in the head and it hurt and that was not okay for you to do

Got to make a decision on Riewoldt, if I had traded him out last week for a premium like Chapman or Pavlich I would have nearly won my Hogg match. Nearly. If I do nothing again this week, it could cost me a game.

Boyd has hand surgery
19/04/2010 8:35 PM
Sportal

Star Western Bulldogs midfielder Matthew Boyd sustained a broken hand late in his team's 22-point loss to the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba on the weekend, it was revealed on Monday night.

Boyd, who won the Doggies' best-and-fairest and All-Australian honours last year, had the hand operated on late on Monday afternoon, according to the Herald Sun.

But the club is optimistic the 27-year-old will only miss Friday night's clash against winless Adelaide at Etihad Stadium.

While the Dogs haven't totally closed the door on the former rookie-listed onballer being available against the Crows, he will almost certainly sit it out and therefore his run of 107 consecutive matches - which stretches all the way back to the end of the 2005 season - will come to an end.

Since being taken at pick No.23 in the 2002 Rookie Draft, Boyd has played 144 matches and become one of the league's best and most-respected midfielders.

Hold him, trade one of your other non performing midfielders.
Look to Kane Lucas he is averaging 77.5 at the price of $124k and will get a price hike this week when he plays his 3rd game.

Anything I touch this year is shocking

I get rid of Jack Riewoldt he gets 137.
I bring in J.Brown he gets 81 (not too bad but still)

I get rid of Hall (should've listened to REB) he polls two great weeks.
Bring in Ballantyne he gets 26.

Trade out Andrew Walker he then gets 120ish.

And Tippett and Kerr two massive spuds.
Already burnt 5 trades and struggling!!

Who should I bring in for Kerr????
And is anyone keeping Tippet?

In one week you may be able to get Vince for close to Kerr's price. How much cash have you got?

Riewoldt-Brown is fine but it sounds like you have an itchy finger on the trade trigger with the other moves. 5 trades down but have you done any upgrades other than Brown? After fixing Kerr you only have 14 trades so I think you've got to hold Tippett now. Just my opinion.

after Jackson Trengove lost me 2 league matches with his outstanding 10 SC points as back up ruck I will at least get Clark back this week. However, Dean Cox has had a similar price drop so he could be a trade option for Clark. Maybe, maybe not. Cox + Sandilands reads nicely on paper.

Also looking at Podsiadly for Hitchcock who I fear may be dropped and stall at his current price.

Well atleast i got one good week out of Boyd.

I think he will still play this week (well i hope).

Iv got Dustin Martin and Lewis Jetta on the pine so im alrite if Boyd goes out this week.

Im thinking of downgrading Gary Rohan to the PODS to free up an extra 70k cash, that will leave me with a 120k in the bank. Then hopefully Jack Trengrove dominates this week and allows me to upgrade him to a premium such as Judd!!! May be too much of a gap, but i could downgrade a defender such as Maquire the following week to help this upgrade, as i have Nason and Raines on the pine at the moment.

Thoughts??

My forward line is hurting me.. Tippet is almost usless without a decent Adelaide midfield, Amon Buchanan from Brisbane is out with a thumb for 1-2 weeks, however I may hold onto him see how he pans out. Reiwoldt out for 12-16, and Setanta O'h Ailpin is hit & miss. My trades this week OUT Masten ($289,500) IN Barlow ($227,900) & OUT Riewoldt ($445,000) IN Brown ($441,400). If I can get high 1900's I'll be happy for a few weeks, need to save some trades for later.
