Maddinson maybe?
Silk hasn't really come on.
Head could really be up there at the moment, but obviously hasn't converted those 90's or enough of those starts that he seems to make pretty easily.
There's not too many with average above 40 in Shield cricket, even given how few games the test bowlers play these days.

Jury is still out on Voges at international level and age isnt on his side. Marsh boys bodies are suspect and Mitch Johnson is on the wrong side of 30 for a pace bowler.

Australia A has the following bats playing currently: Burns, Khuwaja, Bancroft, Hanscomb, Head, Ferguson - Which one of these is next in line to take Clarkes No 4 spot and Rogers opening spot?

Obviously Monty considering he's already had a cap, Khwaja would be the next in line I'd imagine after that.

Burns would definitely be the next in IMO along with Shaun Marsh.

Please not Khuwaja though please! We'll be really struggling if he gets a permanent gig, I don't rate him at all.

Agree DK, not go back to Kwahaja, but I did used to rate him and thought he was going to be a strong mainstay at the top of our order for a long time in the Cook mould, but obviously got that one wrong.

Johnson gets Barstow CB with a short one in his first over. Loved the look on Bairstow's face.

2 perfectly directed short balls. Short balls can be seriously overrated unless they are directed like them 2, They were perfect.

Not really. There's a little in like yesterday but Australia simply can not blame the pitch for the 136 some very average shot selection.

The 2 wickets to Johnson have just been perfect short balls nothing to do with the pitch.

Our pathetic batting first dig will most likely decide this test.

No doubt at all 136 is dismal but, England's tail is very brittle. Johnson looks 'on' although I'm really surprised there hasn't been more short stuff after them jaffers but it's not all lost for your mob. England are 5 down with bugger all of a lead.

For mine Roots first innings will have a huge bearing on this game.
