- Bowlers bowling to a plan, with patience and constricting the batsmen
- Batting deep - Often the Aussies would look in strife (by their standards) at 5/200 odd and the Opposition would be buoyant, only to have S Waugh, Gilchrist or Healy partner up with the tail and double (or more) the score.
- Multiple partnerships of 100 or more.

And as it was our opportunity back in the day to bask in our moment of glory, so too now the Poms have earned that right.

spot on, it is very similar to our domination over them over all those series

The only thing that makes me happy is at least the Aussies won 1 test match, so it's not a 5-0 drubbing
Good luck to England though, they deserve some time to gloat (bastards!!! )

It is always a risk playing 2 spinners
Why is it a risk?
To pick 2 spinners you rely too much on bowling last in the match .....

AU 280
EG 7/584
PRIOR 111*[120]
BRESNAN 35 *[97]
This is disgustingly painful too watch

2 decisions have cost AU in this innings
COOK 46 -189 after that Beer no ball
BELL 67-115 after the cheat rorted the reFERAL system
Cost AU 191 runs
BUT you have to create opportuities to cover whatever happens in a game of cricket

Cheat how...? I hope you're not talking about Bell...? How many Aussies walk...?

2 page spread in todays press about it
Crowd BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOED Bell
Radio media have commeneted about Bell

BELL rorted the rules
Good luck to him, he gotta away with it
Ive been advocating for sometime now that a batter will eventually be let off the hook through a frivoulous reFERAL

Here is an extract from the media
BELL WAS 67 WHEN HE NICKED A WATSON DELIVERY TO KEEPER BRAD HADDIN
IT WAS THE LOUDEST NOISE BY A bell SINCE BIG BEN STRUCK MIDNIGHT ON NEW YEARS EVE. HE BELTED IT

In my eyes BELL cheated and RORTED the system

So did he use the referal for a possible no-ball...?

Why wouldn't he, the umpires haven't exactly being covering themselves in glory when it comes to no-balls have they?

So will you be calling any Aussies cheats who nick one through and refer hoping for a no ball. Or will you be calling them cheats when they don't walk, hell they know they hit it, they know it was caught off they should go...

Not sure how you can cheat by using a rule that is in place...? Cheating to me is the malicious breaking of a rule and he broke no rule in this case, he used it for his advantage... smart if you ask me...

"Cheat" was once a very volatile word to throw around ... Bell had an option at his disposal and he took it, then the authorities adjudicated beyond his control.

To refer to him as a cheat is ridiculous imho.

still it seems the aussies persist with bowling this rubbish to tail enders, short or wide, why dont they attack the stumps or bowl areas they would to the top order? I always thought the short ball was a change up not a stock ball

Exactly, he used a current rule (not one that I particularly agree with) to his advantage...

That's not cheating...

Claiming half volley catches on the other hand ;)

I will call any batsman a cheat including Australian players
The reFERAL system has created the BELL debacle
I will re-iterate he used the system and blatantly disgustingly rorted it

Your defintion of CHEAT is correct
BUT
the IN MY EYES the cheat reference still sticks

Here is another media quote

DAR GAVE BELL OUT
THE ENGLISHMAN STARTED TO WALK OFF B4 DECIDING HE MAY AS WELL ASK FOR VIDEO VERIFICATION
IF BELL WAS INNOCENT, HE WOULD HAVE REFERRED IT STRAIGHT AWAY

Everyone on the ground would have known it was out
BELL then made a mockery and rorted the situation

As the great ADELAIDE HAWK said
When you give adjudications to the players they will take advantage

PS
IF they used SNICKO all this frogcrapp prob would not have happened

With the possibility of a 3rd innings defeat coming up, is this the worst side ever on home soil?

Must go close. This is pathetic. We are not playing the world champs, we are playing a team ranked one spot higher than us. Absolute disgrace

This is what disturbs me. We are home too.

Imagine what India & Sth Africa will do to us if we continue to play like this.

At the time he used it he didn't know it would be to his advantage either .. As for the Hughes catch I haven't seen it, but I've seen plenty of them over the years - Can't recall anyone cheating as blatantly as Steve Rixon one day though

Cricket Australia will be offering Clarke bonuses if he can get this game into a 5th day, I imagine the entire Pommy population of Sydney will turn up tomorrow to see the Ashes be handed back to Strauss. If it happens today they will lose thousands

Retraction BELL didnt CHEAT
RE-iteration IN MY EYES he cheated

The bubbleheaded boobys that are ruining the game are the reFERAL lawmakers

The referal system that allows GAYLE and WATTO to use it for some approximately 15/85 decisions on fluke, becoz they are opening batters
The same system that does often deprives tailenders like BENN and BOLLINGER the right because others have used up the 2 appeals b4 them
The same system that allows the what the hec reFERALs such as BELLs
The same system that overides disMissALs becoz the umps think it might have been a no ball by the bowler

The sad part about BELLgate is the rafferty rule process
Had the Poms used up their 2 reFERALs, BELL would have walked off without all this crapp

England deserve every accolade. CA has alot to answer for, the poms came out early to acclimatise and did a heap of hard work at ground level, they played good tour matches. Australia meanwhile are playing meaningless obe dayers in sri lanka when our players should have been playing shield cricket. Absolute disgrace. And dont get me started on the selectors and coaching panel. CA needs a kick in the ass and heads have to roll. I think we have a good crop of kids and our future is bright, lets start picking them and see what happens.
If all else fails lets do the same as england and get a heap of saffers to emmigrate here

I actually agree with pretty much all of this, I'm sure you can figure out which line I don't agree with... :)
If the referral system is to be continued there needs to be a massive overhaul...
