Its not the initiative itself its the buy in from the amatuer players that make up the best 44 players in the State. As soon as a few of the best 44 dont want to be involved the comp (As they are late 20 early 30s) the comp gets dilluted and looses credability, once players think they arent a chance they will give up on it. The initiative then becomes pointless.
And DOOL you have a clear hatred for Grade Cricket and the players who play it and no idea of how grade clubs are run and thee majority of the clubs focus in regards to player development. This is clear by your ignorant attack on my club regarding producing state players
I don't hate grade cricket just some grade clubs and their ignorant attitude to the betterment of cricket in this state, yours being one of them, you come on here and beat your chest but your club does nothing for state cricket. You have always had plenty of representation at state junior level but absolutely nothing at senior level.
Prove me wrong and list your state players then. And i mean guys that were successful state players.
You and your club should be embracing any changes as you can't do any worse than you have in the past, shit you might even produce at decent cricketer that you can legitimately beat your chest about.
Haha you have obviously been beating something other than your chest to much it’s taken the blood away from your brain
Living in the past but we’ve had Peter McIntyre and Bob Zadow, we have had Ben Cameron who was struck down by injury currently have 2 state contracted players including possibly the best U20 batter in the country, 2 players in the emerging redbacks squad and had plenty of quality cricketers like Wes Thomas, Gary Chillingworth, Trav Borlace etc were around the mark and not given a crack just like many other blokes at other clubs in a similar boat.
We have a huge emphasis on junior development - only take minimal DLCA players in an effort to give the young talent an opportunity to develop at a higher grade, we don’t have 38 yo blokes taking young lads spots and solid coaching staff who plan and implement trainings far beyond when I first started playing seniors – clear pathways mapped for kids to push up the grades and beyond. We could easily have 8 imports like Prospect have in their A grade but what would that be doing for cricket in this state?
If you want to live in the now and reality, you will see the effort made by the board and Ben in developing future cricketers for this state not just TTGDCC.
I suppose it’s hard to see the facts of what is happening currently when you sit bitterly behind a computer and let that hatred of the past cloud your judgement.
