NZ 4/236

Lead of 229

Great fighting spirit by the Kiwis to get up off the canvas several times already and have put themselves in a good position to press for the win.
New ball will be critical for the Poms 1st up to stay in the game. Chasing anything over 300 will be tough although it only takes one big partnership as these 2 have shown.
The Poms short pitched bowling tactics came undone and allowed Mitchell and Blundell to arrest control from them.
Poor captaincy

What is with the short pitched tactic? not bowling express enough, hoping for a batsman's error, my as well put 3 short covers and hope for an error that way

Pope at 3 hasn't worked in this match but yes that delivery was a ripper.

Bairstow was lipping up to Jamieson and then gets knocked over, that's embarrassing and Jamieson let him know about it.

Lost of pressure on Root and Stokes yet again to build a partnership.

England 5/216 at stumps, need 61 to win and should do it with Root (77*) still there.
Just watched the last session highlights, Stokes took a liking to Patel.

Agree they should win from here, but they did elect to go in with a very long tail starting at No.8, so they would not want to lose Root too early
