Really. I’d say he is in the opposition XI.
1961, 1971, 1976, 1978, 1983, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1991, 2008, 2013, 2014, 2015.... And don't you forget it!

You got me bang on, a tiny left handed opener who didn’t mind a yap to a bowler if I felt it could get them to bowl short to me. The cut and the pull the only two shots I had haha.

Needless to say my career never took off past b grade senior district cricket haha

Can AM Bays be our coach? The voice of reason, only speaks when he feels he really needs to jump in. Quality over quantity.

Despite LM being a gun real life cricketer which I’ve been on the receiving end of surely his posting style gets him in as that bloke that bats at 9, doesn’t bowl but is nippy in the field and brings classic new banter each week, never takes anything to serious even when your in the field with the opposition 2/375. Generally one of the most liked blokes in the side and never at risk of being dropped.

Time to put together the SAFooty team of the series, for contribution on here.

I'll start with a couple of suggestions.

1. Whufc - open the batting with the exuberance and youth that we need. We know he will keep swinging, regardless how its going!
2.
3. Mal (Capt) - SA Footy's Don. Picks himself to anchor the top order.
4.
5.
6. Locky801 - big hitting middle order bat and part time noodler. Most consistent, 2nd picked every time.
7.
8.
9. Dedja - bats 9 and doesn't bowl, but chirps away at Point all day (and occasionally makes a good point)
10.
11. The Dark Night - dependable, honest, can bowl with spark or hold up an end all day if needed.

12th.

Over to you.,...

Another Grub would be my go to fast bowler, he would be my Jeff Thomson
Jackpot Jim MUST open- ive seen him bat- he is a star
Mighty_Tiger can fill a spot at 7 as the allrounder, i could never get him out in the nets- would have been a great cricketer but for bottlos and TABS
Booney a must to open , ive captained against him as a young lad- he opened the batting and slaughtered my attacks
Dutchy in the middle order for his calmness
Lightning Mcqueen, a great left hand fast bowler, just ask him
As for me, an honour to be skipper

Just getting back to the real stuff, just started to watch Gautam Gambhir’s after match presser. Any thoughts on the Indian press asking questions in their native tongue and Gambhir responding in same?

Notice a post from that conference where he made some inetresting comments

Gambhir defended the actions of his players and claimed that Konstas “had no right” to talk to Bumrah.

“It’s a tough sport played by tough men,” Gambhir said.

“You can’t be that soft, as simple as it can get.

you can’t just go out there and keep smashing from ball one.

It is not only in this series these incidents have happened. It has happened in the past as well, a lot of Australian players in the past have done that as well

How about worrying about your own players and pitfalls Gautam, Rahul Dravid must be beside himself how you have come along and stuffed this team up

They really are sore losers

Yeah, he was also asked about Kohli running into Konstas … answered that it was in the past, move on, plus plenty of Aussie have done it

The only point I make about using native tongue is that there’s a bit of English dispersed amongst it, which I thought was sort of funny.

Gambhir will be in strife to keep his job. Two series losses on the trot, first one at home in a decade and now there next series is in England with some old guys hanging on for dear life with the bat. Bumrah saved them all series really from this being a flogging. His constant grumpiness and lies don't help endear him to anyone and how they handles the media compared to when Shastri was in charge was awful.
