Blewett, Nobes, Webber, Lehmann, Siddons, Brayshaw, Nielsen, May, Gillespie, McIntyre, George.
First thing i notice is that i can count only 3 interstaters (Please correct me if im wrong) in Siddons, Brayshaw and McIntyre who were all class. I think that is just about the maximum that we should have now. I'd much rather see a young, local lad being given a shot than an ordinary recruit (Cooper, Lang, Blizzard, Wise). I find it incredibly frustrating that guys like Haberfield, Bailey and Putland keep missing out and people like Duval, Edmondson and Lang get a game instead.
Secondly, would any current players make that team? I honestly doubt it. Maybe Ferg or Klinger in for Darren Webber but even that i find hard to do as on his day he was a gun!
The last time i was excited about the redbacks was when Ferguson, Cosgrove, Borgas, Cameron, Plant, Bailey, Cullen, Tait all came on the scene and i thought we were on the verge of a golden era. What happened? They all showed bucket loads of potential but only one or two seemed to develop. I am fairly confident that if we had invested 5 years of first class cricket into those guys we would be in a much healthier position than we currently are. It's time to find the next generation of local cricketers and GIVE THEM A GO!!!

Which is the biggest mistake??????
Keep selecting a wicket keeper whose batting is poor and according to some on here has had an armchair ride for years at the selection table.
Release one of your better bowlers who wanted a 2 year contract, but was only offered a 1 year deal to QLD who then represents Australia.
Release possibly your best batsman because he is over weight despite putting decent numbers on the board ?????

think thats why others are saying about putting ludeman in side before another balls up happens and another state come and grab him as well just as manou is about to fade into the horizon. we lost 2 others though poor decisions not another one please. would be![]()

But Jim, our "mediocre" recruits, kicking off with Michael Klinger, haven't been too shabby... Not all superstars, but how often can you entice a genuine superstar away from another state?
The issue is management for mine. Cossie can make runs, and we got rid of him because he was too heavy...
I don't give a flying rats tossbag (thanks Blighty) what the SACA think, but he's a run machine, and we somehow let him go. Unacceptable.
Rhino left because we couldn't come to contract terms... Now he's played all three forms of International cricket- based originally on his SA performances, and we let him go.
I've got no problem recruiting guys like Klinger or O'Brien, because they justify their spots.
I don't care if our entire XI was made up of recycled state players.

I only heard a bit of it because i wasnt really listening, but KJ slammed the local grade comp and said something needed to be fixed, and Cox basically told him he (KJ) didnt understand certain issues within the grade comp and then went on to basically say as an aussie selector he is too busy watching other states and games to really take much notice of our grade comp or to fix it..
SO WTF IS HE HERE FOR!?!?!?!
