Old Scholar sides would have access to very few (if any) U18 players during the year, as they would be required to play for their schools. Therefore, they won't get the benefit of many junior players being -1.
My understanding is Iggies have only lost Atkinson from last year's side, which leaves Pedler, Tom Carr and White as "points players" from last year's squad. By my calculations, all other players would have had a value of 0, including Zillante who is an old scholar.
Since then, they have recruited Willoughby and Grant Bailey, and also Josh Carr if the talk on here is correct. These guys will attract a few points under the new system, so it will be interesting to see how they manage their list. The frustration for Iggies would be that most of these recruits (excluding J Carr) were announced to club members as having signed weeks ago, well before the new system was voted on and agreed to. I'm sure they are not the only club impacted like this either - the new APPS will certainly make it more challenging for clubs to be competitive as they move up the grades.
