Will be interesting to see the difference in the two Adelaide Uni teams this weekend. I expect the early game to have a better Uni team than the late game!

I've heard this is the case aswell, what is the deal with this anyway why do they do that?
What position does Legrand play?

Trev umpires football as if he is still umpiring cricket. Lucky Carnelly wasn't playing he'd have been reported in the 1/4.

Up to the coaches Boxhead but i would expect to be in the B Grade with some players coming back. Riddler Legrand would play up forward. They have all theses excuses of wanting to play for the coach and stuff like that but i just call it Sandbagging for cheap premierships!

You sad man get a life and crabs are not the same team as last year.

Who said the crabs would win a flag this year I didn't.

As for the loss against Angle vale they played very well on the day
So they take it and move on shame u can’t do the same and u call me a wanker who is the real wanker here.

Hopefully the crabs will have a better showing next time when players are not on holidays.
I’m sure Angle vale may even upset a few top sides as they play more games together as they put on a good display in the wet. Must say I was impressed with their game on the day.

To the umpiring, It was worst I’ve ever seen and as for the guy in the hat. I feel sorry for any team Uni or college that get this D/H.He gave the Uni guys nothing all day he would have cost Uni at least 7-8 goals on the day but still not enough to win the game hopefully Uni made a report about this D/H so they never get him again.
(To the gothebombers I sure he must be related to u as he hated Uni to with such a s--t umpiring display)
sorry cw , when did i call you a wanker(if you find it show me). if the umpiring was bad , it prob was me, not related , it WAS me.. seems like a few other people on here have already worked you out.... lighten up. sounds like your taking it a bit personally. i dont know why...also calling umpires D/H s is not a good idea as they tend to check the forums for feed back  and also a lot of edits. any reason

You dont even know what i was talking about as you dont play at the club anymore so how can u say anything.
I wasn't making excuses on the loss or piss weak excuses as u say i was talking to one person who cans Uni ever week given the chance and the guys who let thier team mates down this week. So get the facts right as u are not associated in the club anymore.Yes Angle vale and Paralowie were to good for Uni and played some good footy & i watch most games with one eye.

You obviously think that you know who I am. I have never played a game for the Crabs, I'm just going on what players who are playing this year have said to me. Maybe you have too much time on your hands this year seeing as you've been sacked from the coaching panel.

The Crabwalker wrote:I wasn't making excuses on the loss or piss weak excuses

You come on here complaining about the umpires after a 90 point loss. All that does is make the people who read this forum think that Flinders Uni are a mob of whingers. No matter how bad the umpires are, if a team is good enough they'll win on the day.

The Blacks played quite well on the weekend and the final score was probably a bit more lopsided than the evenness of the game suggested - the Sharks did have to play some good footy to get the win. Uni will still be around the mark this year from what we have seen so far. Their D's won confortably in the end but I don't think you can compare them to the C's, despite Legrand and a few other boys enjoying a kick with their mates in a grade that is well below their level.....

Yeah lots of edits as I had to lighten it up a bit .Won’t affect Uni with umpires as I don’t have role with the club. Just follow them each week as a supporter so I can have a view on what I see on the day but I guess it wasn’t you.
Why would you say it was? Thats not funny at all ....

Adelaide University is the most unique club in the Amateur League in many ways, and few seem to understand this;

There are 8 teams, the A's (Div 2), B's (Div 2R) and C's (Div 7) are the top 3 teams internally and are comprised completely of players that want to play as high as they can (ie comparable to all other Football clubs in philosophy). However, of the other 5 teams, C2 is basically comprised of students from Adelaide University's Roseworthy Campus (The Farmers), whilst the remaining 4 teams (Div 7R, C1, C4 & C5 - generally regarded as the bottom team in the club, called The Scum) are effectively their own self-sufficient groups of friends playing under another mate who 'coaches' the team. In other words, Legrand's team Div 7R is not the D grade as you would understand it, it is simply the grade his team plays in (mainly because they want to play early games and also play at main University Oval). For example, if they wanted to play late games, or play at Park 10 (Uni's 2nd Oval), they would swap grades with another team, get it?

Hope this clears things up a bit, and although Legrand played 3 games as asked in the Uni's A's last year (Div 1) to try to help the club avoid its first ever relegation, he only continues to play to be with his mates. No-one at Uni gets paid, he doesn't chase money, and due to the way the lower grades are structured as explained above, there are about 10 to 15 other players along with him that could easily play A's or B's if they wanted to.

I think its a copout by Legrand and his mates to play in the Div7r team. They should be doing the right thing by this prestigous club and play where they are picked.

Adelaide University v Paralowie
St Paul's College OS v Angle Vale
Sacred Heart OC v Henley
Mitchell Park v Athelstone
Flinders University v SMOSH West Lakes

- Paralowie by 25 - 36 points, should be too strong for Uni's C grade
- St Paul's after some pathetic performances over the past 2 weeks need a win and it should come against newcomers Angle Vale at home.
- Henley by plenty against SHOC, 10 goals +
- Athelstone will be tough but Mitchell Park are the team to beat and they'll prove this on Saturday.
- SMOSH to SMASH Flinders
