Our boys played really well again on Saturday. Playing some good confident team footy at the moment with everyone contributing. I know Henley had some of their better players missing this week and as has been the case in the past seem to struggle to get their best squad to travel out to us each year. Our back six are really working well as a group and once again kept our opposition to less than 5 goals. This week against Glenunga will be more of a challenge and a good chance to see if we really are up to Kenilworth's standards.
It's a pity our A grade are not playing with the same confidence. Even though we are 4 and 1 we still are yet to play some of the better sides and are not getting enough players contributing each week. Too much is being left to too few and as a result a number of B Graders have been getting opportunities in the A grade in recent weeks, which is good to see. No doubt a few more will get an opportunity this week and hopefully we get some key position players back with our 1st and 2nd rucks having been out for the last month, our CHF unavailable, our CHB in Darwin on uni placement and 2 other first choice talls also injured. It makes the B grades results even more rewarding, knowing that the A grade have had most of our key position players over the last few weeks.
Expecting very tough games in both grades against Glenunga this week.[/quote]
TOS B's were very good on the weekend and although being clearly outplayed the Sharks stayed in the game for nearly 3 quarters before being over run badly in the last quarter. Quite a few underdone players in the Henley side whose fitness let them down in the last and led to a blow out. Agree with TOSSER, their backline was very solid and rebounded well all day. Henley will look much stronger with a few players back next week.
Henley As put in a great performance and were unlucky to go down. Won't comment on TOS's performance as I don't know enough about them, but I thought Henley controlled the play for most of the game but struggled to convert that on the scoreboard. If Henley keep playing with that type of intensity they might surprise a few sides later this season.
