Dashin wrote:A clinical performance today really. Hahndorf were very competitive in the first half but with 5 mins to go in the second quarter with scores even, Lofty went bang, bang, bang. Went in at half time 20 points up and that was the end of it. Devs kicked the first 3 in the third within 5 minutes of the re-start and the germans dropped their heads like they'd just lost the war....again. Lofty had winners all over the ground, their attack on the ball was phenomenal! With Gordon back next week, i think the cutters could get the result of round 1 reversed on them in a big way!

Unfortunately for them Mt Lofty are just as strong as they were when they belted Blackwood in the qualifying final last year. They are certainly in with a good chance, probably of running second. A number of teams are reasonably even this year and any of them could make the gf but the Devils do look pretty good.

A major difference between Lofty and Hanhdorf is that Cooper and Kaesler would not be playing at the moment if they played for the devils as they would be rested to get their injuries right. Hahndorf will not be a contender if they continue playing their top players with chronic injuries, they'll break down before finals if not rested.

I think Hahndorf need all their big names playing to be competitive and if some are out, or playing with injury the rest of the group is not that good. Remember last year without these big names they were pretty awful you can not change the main group that quickly it will take time. I think dangermouse is right but if they rest them, they may not make the finals.
What happened last week Rooster and Gimp your first two quarters were deplorable but your third was very good?
