Just bought a bottle of Moet for a special occasion......didn't have to wait long to crack it!!!

:partyman: :partyman:

A LOT of people very happy about this one!

Would love to get KB back, but very doubtful. The smartest thing the Devs could do is offer the role in some sort of joint capacity to Floreani and Trigga IMO.

It would be a disaster for Lofty if Trigger was named head coach. Mt Lofty should hose that fire before people start fanning it. Great player, great leader, great club man, great future coach. But you can't expect young blokes to respect the authority of a bloke on training and game day that they then get on the gas with every Saturday night. A young side like Lofty need a coach like KB or Andrew Johns (no, not Joey the drug fiend Johns) who will bring discipline, structure and direction. I think you will find that the reasons why Trigger should NOT be head lofty coach are the same reasons why Jeremy Aufderheide was not given the Lobethal job.

Fair point, but how would that be different to Grainger? The blokes got on the 'gas' with him most sat nights.

That's why it would be great to have Floreani and Trigga in some sort of joint arrangement. Plus I think that everyone respects Trigga too much to not give him the authority he deserves.

Agree though, KB would be brilliant and it would be great to see him in a premiership photo after starting the momentum in 2005. And Johnsie too whould be excellent. He has taken a few training sessions at Heathfield and is very highly regarded, and I guess available. Told some great footy analogies too!

Ben Coleman- Would be good for Lofty. Highly regarded and recommended by Johnsy and apparently is of a similar mould character and coaching wise. Had a turn-over of close to 70 players through the West Adelaide Reserevs last year and did well with what he had. Quite a few at Westies were quite surprised and dissapointed to lose him as he did good things with the 17's and 19's (both Grand Final appearances possibly?) and could've done the same in the ressies if he had the cattle. Is this a done deal? Does anyone know of any other candidates?

I think you will find that Floreani senior is the one to be coaching SHOCS next year.

If A. Floreani does get the gig at Sacred Heart i wouldnt expect Jon to stay at the devils. He will more than likely head there with his old man.

tex, have heard this also but dont think he'll play until half way through the yr. had a bad achilles injury. but would be very handy late in the yr if the maggies are around the mark. he could push them up into the finals.

Heard that Ben Gordon has signed with Athelstone and another high profile Lofty player isn't far off signing with them as well.

Haven't been on here for a while forum, and can't be bothered reading back too far.

Can anyone shed some light on the rumour that Scott Sutherland is not going to coach Uri's next year.

Have heard he was to coach Broadview, but know a bloke who plays out there and he said that broadview already have a coach.

Have also heard that Pucker is to head into town and play with the Unley Jets as he found out what all the recruits were getting paid and walked.

All rumours, so just wanted to see if anyone else has heard this??

Pucker is a cabbage through and through. Played there his whole life except for a stint at sturt in his junior days.

I'd heard last season that Unley Jets were offering significant amounts of coin to a couple of other gun HFL locals who turned them down.

Very interesting if he has walked. Massive loss to Cabbage and the HFL. IMO, he's the best player in the comp.

Sutherland is definitely coaching Uraidla. A few guys at Broadview started this rumour after he flat out said no to their initial enquiry. They were pretty keen to get him and were trying to stir the pot and hoped that the rumour would cause some unrest at Uraidla and Sutherland would fall into Broadviews lap.

Pucka is staying at Uraidla too. No doutbt the Unley Jets rumour was started by ex Uraidla player Matty Thomas who is currently playing for the Jets. He is known for stirring the locals at Uri up by telling them that the 'out of towners' are on a lot more cash than they actually are. Wouldn't surprise me if he has been in Pucka's ear trying to stir him up in the hopes of getting him to play at the Jets with words to this effect. Don't know anyone who has any time for him. Caused quite a bit of unrest when he played at Uraidla with his 'all about me' attitude. A few gun players threatened to leave at the end of the '06 season if Thomas was going to play on at Uraidla.
