What did ML mean when he said in the paper...

"I think I hurt as a coach on Saturday because I was fairly harsh on my players after the game,"

What about the MP president stating 'The football league need to make it decisions as with any other issue and move on'.

Well sorry Joe but no, not this time. We aren't going to just move on and wait for your clubs next indiscretion. We've had a guts full and this time the people of PL footy want to see some action taken to hold your club responsible for the continual embarrassment to PL footy you continue to be.

The Mallee Park Football Club are a disgrace to the aboriginal race they represent.....

Also Chook Dahl's comments at the club were intersting also according to a team mate.

Steiger? LDS? To confirm/deny?

For the record - MRFC have a football operations meeting on the 1st Tuesday of each month and today is the first Tuesday. It has not been called as a result of the events of last Saturday

I think that you will find that is the catering committee steigs... ;)
Obviously didn't see the incident, but the PLFL tribunal has a tendency of leniency. To be honest, it is a hard job given that you need to live in the town and possibly bump into the player any time down the street.
Does this verdict raise the debate for an independent panel with set penalties ala the AFL code? Would guarantee that a vicious king hit would incur much more than 4 weeks, and probably a season if they tried to fcontest it. Not sure where kicking sits on the penalty scale, but PD would be given plenty of spare time to eat donuts on the sidelines instead of a 2 week wrist slap.

This could be the final straw needed to get some positive action.

If this is how they actually think btb, they shouldnt be on the tribunal...it defeats its purpose of justice.

now read the editorial were the extravigant front page "footbrawl" becomes a minor "skirmish" and the fence jumper should be nailed to the cross.

If it was a court of criminal law or similar then your statements would hold water but these are well intentioned people giving up their time in the interest of the game. Very hard to get new people to put their hand up for such a thankless task.
Far West have implemented this system and it works incredibly well. Young kids confident to play the game knowing that they will be protected.
An independent tribunal with representation from the SANFL, Police, Council and business who can be totally impartial to the outcome.
A range of pre set penalties that will discourage the crime will fix the problem once and for all.

T08, IMHO they're not 'dramatizing' too much, but I think there's some factual errors, which we've come to expect from the publication.

Hands down the most serious on-field incident in my memory.

I challenge anyone to come up with a worse one...

I also see the ravendale managers position is in the paper again. If I was 10 years younger I would put in for that as it would be a great opportunity and experience to run a sporting complex. Actually I might look into it further and consider applying, with my experience I would have to be a chance. Does anyone know what the pay rate is like? Who was the previous manager I might give him a call and see the pro's and con's.

dramatize, yeh wrong word, maybe sensationalize and agreed have not seen a worse display of violence in PL.

at least Bluey had his blinkers on when writing his report,. Anyone reading that report would think it was a normal match with a melee and back to their best Dudley who was the winning hero for Peckers.

that game did not deserve a write up other than maybe the first half, what happened after doesn't count win, lose or draw - it destroyed what was a great entertaining game of football.
