While on the topic, anyone have any idea why the AGM was Adjourned till tonight? A fixture would be out by now if the meeting was held in December like it should have been.
my guess would be because Owen has a big problems in Callington and the whole Torrens Valley Situation.
I reckon he's got bigger problems than those two. And all of these could have been avoided with some foresight and firm decisions.

Well, it's an opinion. Your logic stinks (ie a third placed team with a premiership-winning B grade) picking up players, even though all clubs have picked up players, to struggle this year, I don't understand. Last year Lofty were pretty competitive against your mob, so what are your boys doing differently and who have you picked up? According to your logic, unless you pick up some superstars, you'll struggle.
Re the sudden talk of Bridgey and TV, where did all that come fromThat's full on.
Does the footy club have ties with the cricket club? I was told last week that Bridgey cricket floated a merger with Stirling and the latter didn't want a bar of it. is it a sports & social club on the brink?

No price hikes for 2011. Uraidla have junior problems though and may attempt to get the rules changed in the not too distant future to allow them to stay in Central Div. From what I'm told the Uraidla president was blowing his trumpet a fair bit last night... nothing new though.

I think you'll find this is already a discussion point with the CFL. Not only in the HFL but most country leagues have 1 or 2 clubs who are in the same predicament. It may be that the playing numberin juniors becomes 14 or 15 to ease some of the burden.

Apparently they dont think having a chunky bloke with a bad attitude that just runs around the big blokes taking handballs to kick the easiest 100 goals in HFL history will cut it with the influx of players into div1 this year! Can you confirm this Lebron?

And the Bridgy situation. Apparantly they have requested to go to Country Div., and with Birdwood never wanting to leave Central, a straight swap is being proposed. Highly doubt this will eventuate.

Uraidla and Ironbank are the clubs that traditionally struggle with numbers in the U13, U15 and U17 ages.
In 2010 it wasn't unusual to see 6-8 of the Ironbank U13's play in the U15 game, and then another batch of the U15's play in the U17 game.
To my knowledge the other Central clubs are OK with junior numbers. The big clubs like Mt Barker, Blackwood, Lofty and Hahndorf have more kids than they need (and will sometimes field a team in country with excess kids).
I know personally that Onkas have good numbers. Even a smaller club like Bridgy has no problems in this area.
I reckon that TV will also struggle, but only time will tell.

From what I'm told Ironbanks numbers are quite healthy, so this would leave Uraidla as the only club of concern at this stage. If this is the case surely the rules cannot be changed for one club alone, although the Uraidla president seems to get whatever he wants when it comes to the HFL. Probably not ideal a premiership team gets relegated for not being able to forfill the junior component... but rules are rules even for the likes of Uraidla.
