Big prediction when they only won by five points...
Bold even.

Thanks for the commentary though. Good to have an idea of what happened.

I just think there talls are going to be way too good for every other team in the comp. Their new full back Schreiber is a gun and I head he won the best defender award in the amateurs last year. With Braun @ CHB, their back line should be too strong for all others. Then Venning who I rate highly and Miller at full forward, I see them very hard to be stopped. Nettlebeck also gives them the extra height and competitiveness around the ground. I think with Damo Stevens back playing as well in 5-6 weeks time, I think with both Underwoods, Williams, Bratton, Bachmann and Tim Bevan in the midfield they will be very hard to stop.

Not too take anything away from North who I thought played well today, especially in the second half.

Josh Voigt went down with a serious injury in the first quarter. He was playing a crucial role at centre half back.
Not sure how bad it was but I did hear he was on crutches.

Thought he did okay.
Was unsure of himself a couple of times and didn't blow the whistle when he should have, but let the play go a lot which was okay too.

Hard for a kid to do it but I reckon Crackers will be a good umpire.

Pretty ordinary effort by the umpires in yesterday's game at Lyrup.
Thought they might've sent three of their best out there seeing as there were only two games on.
Red Thiele and George Kaiser were deplorable. The other bloke, Darren Skilton, did alright though.

Just got this through from the RFL:

TO ALL CLUBS
I have had a number enquiries as to why a Coach was able to be a Runner for a team on Wednesday.
The coach was not named as the Coach on the team sheet but was named as the Runner.
From direction from SANFL this is allowed.
It is then up to the umpire to ensure that the Runner is following the duties of a Runner’s

Interesting strategy with the co-coaches.
Good way to keep both coaches in the game I guess.

I think he has all the qualities to be a good umpire. I know especially from playing with him, he understands what should be let go and what not and works hard with his father I understand.

Saw Josh Voight go off but wasn't sure if it was serious or not. Gotta feel for him as it is going to be a big season for him. Also gotta feel for Stevo, poor guy just coming back and doesn't even last 10 minutes.

Interesting tactic with Griff as runner but if I were apart of Waikerie's coaching team I would have him as a runner as well as it makes sense. Will be interesting too see if he gets picked up for coaching out there or not. I know the guys in the shed at North yesterday were giving it too him about coaching out and that was just five minutes in. They are a preety funny bunch of blokes when you look at if from a neutral prespective.

Can`t see the problem with this if the SANFL allows it,infact it may be a disadvantage.Time will tell.
I guess if it works why wouldn`t all clubs follow suit, maybe Waikerie are just setting a trend that we may see more often in country footy,at the end of the day they are playing within the rules so play on I say.
Would be interested to know if Shirps(Norths Runner),spent any more or less time on the field as Griff,as with his experience I`d expect his role would be very similar anyway.

I think that Waikerie may have drawn a bit more attention because they have named dual coaches. In essence they could have just named KF as coach, kept Griff as the runner and there would be no objections.

In essence all runners are an assistant coaches anyway.

Old 'Clint Eastwood' still umpiring?? He should have given it away years ago.

A couple I think.
Probably not enough to make up 20 goals though.
