Luckily for me I don't drink. If I did, I wouldn't be happy with that new rule one little bit.

I agree with you RW - I thought it was already a rule applied during the season as well as finals.

The London riots will pale into insignificance if that becomes fact.

i think you will find that it depends on the liquor license held by the various clubs meaning that if the oval and surrounds are covered under the license than no you are not supposed to let alcohol into the ground.that is why come finals the clubs need to get the whole oval area licensed to sell grog around the ground and can the stop patrons bringing in their own grog

It is an offence to bring alcohol into a football ground that has a licensed premises. This law is similar to bringing your own alcohol into a pub or club - you cannot do it.

The licensed premises of a football club extend to the boundary perimeter and the club has the power to search your car for alcohol. I think it also works the other way where alcohol purchased at the ground must be consumed at the ground and not taken outside the perimeter.

At Ceduna you cannot consume alcohol outside of the clubrooms or changerooms.

Dont know about the likes of Paringa, Moorook, Cobby and Lyrup that do not have a licensed premises at their oval. Although I imagine Paringa would have some sort of restricted license to sell from their Steak Sanger shed.

I thought there would have been a fair bit on here about Mal Greenwood coming up to coach loxton next year. A few of your posters have been on the BL&G site letting everyone know he has left Freeling and is a sure thing. Maybe a bit of wishfull thinking maybe. :D

Wouldn't surprise me Freo. The BL&G and RFL have been swapping players for years!

No one said it was a definite.
Would be interesting to see if Greeny does come back.
And, if he did, would Harry come too? Who else might join them?

Was a bit disappointed to be honest.

There was no nugget. I was fairly drunk but I remember Jars emphasising there was no nugget.

Perhaps he got stage fright. I don't think it sounds like Harry to get stage fright.

It is definately current law as part of liquor licencing. To my knowledge it has to do with when there is an entrance charge to watch the football.
In the instance of RRFC their licence is a 2 metre boundary around the clubrooms and out to the bike track in the front. They have to apply to have a booth anywhere else around the oval.
When cricket, baseball etc is played the ruling for bringing in alcohol doesnt apply.

Ridiculous rule. No way I'm going to pay $7.00 for a stubby at the club, when I can get a slab for $50 and have a quiet dozen when I'm watching the local footy. Maybe the RFL can set up a booth at every home game and charge $2.50 a stubby then??

it is not the RFL rule they are just policing it. It is a liquor licence requirement. you are only upset because you won't be able to buy beers from the Berri beergraders for $2.50, oh thats right you don't drink

I believe we have a restricted license, but we'll have a full one for the grand final.
