on saturdays games handorf were tested at times by a youthful ironbank team. they work hard for eachother and just have a crack, in a few years time with some more recruits they will b a good side. thought that handorf just had too much class all over the feild.
what happend in the lofty blackwood game? i see blackwood won but what was the story behind it? blackwod for mine are the sleeping giants and will compete with us late in september. their forward line seems to b very roach and gigney minded but it works with both those big blokes awesome in the air, gives them something to kick too. how players do lofty have to come back into the side?
i see uris flogged birdwood, no surprise they won but though it might have been closer. they looked like they have gained some valuable percentage uri in the fight for top 3 spot. do they have many to come back into their side either?
The game was very well faught out by both teams, Lofty looked slow and second to the ball in the first quarter and a bit in the 2nd, then turned up the tempo and quick ball movement and got in front by the middle of the last. To blackwoods credit they were keeping up and then snagged a few late ones which put them in front, a good game to watch. Lofty looked as they really lacked a leader, since their domination they've have trigger and cutting and with all 3 stappletons out on saturday they really missed them. In saying that though NPG and S wood really stood up as they usually do, and it was good to see billy bawden back to some good form. Players that were out were the 3 stappleton brothers, pencil, burch went off in 2nd quarter with a shoulder and other players like joel brown, matt penny coming back from sickness, jumbo davies and nick paech who is finding his feet again in the 2's after a long time out with injury.
