hodgy may be good but how can one man take on the willunga onballers? no doubt haskett will have a crack on ellis, possible the best centre half back vs one of the best big forwards in league, my money is on haskett to shut him with the help of a lack of supplie compared to last week

mate i never sed hodgey would beat all of willungas on-ballers by himself.the only thing i stated was if u can shut down hodgey and d.ellis then any side in the gsfl will go along way to knockn of vh.i actually think willunga will win this week and i think they will win fairly comfortably,as sum1 stated before i think vh defence is a little vulnerable.

Hodgey and Ellis are 2 of the best players in the comp. Throw into the mix down there Luke Ellis, Sam J, White, Brown, Pitman, Parker, the FOX and im sure there are others and Victor shape up very well!

Sam J will go back this week and sure up the defence so that wont be as weak as some say! Im anticipating a cracker of a match. 2 sides that will attack each other and both have the forward lines to kick them a big score!

Strath had some very good players playing in the B grade, Ben simmo, Burgess (who looks fit, lost some weight apparently), maxwell (called him snoop i think, unsure of his first name) so i think people writing them off after a 0-2 start might be made to eat words.

dont know what you mean it was a great day!!:)
the one referred to as snoop is ryan maxwell.first year out of colts and is looking very handy!
half expecting him to get the call up to A's after his performance on the weekend!
b's are only looking to get stronger with inclusion of 2 more players thrown into the mix this week.
great result for strath after two losses in previous fortnight!shows the young players are moulding together well and are still hungry for success!
great game by the duff getting best on ground standing feast!

YES
Creeks trailed by 25 points at 3/4 time and got to within 5 points then Strath kicked the last 2 goals.
was about 11 goals to 9. Strath were better suited by the slippery conditions with their pace causing the Creeks a few problems.

Good game Sat night, my observations on why Strath got up:

a) Conditions significantly lessened the influence of Creeks big blokes and brought Strath's speedy little fellas right into the game.
b) Strath had a very well thought out game plan and were definitely better coached on the night. Duffield in a scragging role on Feast all night the master stroke.
c) Creek poorly prepared and poor performances from some of the 2nd tier 'regulars'.

After watching the Creek (& South for that matter) for a few years now, I feel when 'big' recruits come into a football side the regulars and perhaps even the coaches can get a bit lazy, assuming that the sum amount of talent in the side will get them over the line easily each week. No amount of talent is substitute for proper preparation and a well thought out game plan.

Champion sides like Willunga (and Centrals in SANFL) are the ones who have been able to gel recruits into the team and turn a team of champions into a champion team.

As a Creek supporter I just hope some lessons will be learnt from this game. In the end it's better to get wake up call like this early in the season rather than in the GF when it's too late a la 2007.

it should be a pretty good contest between chf and chb! i reckon ellis might have haskett for strength but he's also lazy and haskett will run off and expose him in that area!

Haskett will not go back onto him. Horsfall will pick up D Ellis and Haskett will pick off Pittman.

James Toone will line up on Ellis! Will match him for strength and height all day! If Luke 'Plugga' Harding was not injured, he would have got the job!!!

The MV v Yank score doesn't really reflect the game. Scores were level 3 minutes into the last quarter. Yank blew it in the first quarter. Indirect and very poor entry into the forward lines. 4 goals instead of 4 points would have set up a really good finish

My premiership table was correct...now for round 4:

Myponga v L/Creeks - 10-15 goals; Will be to good even at Pongy.
McLaren v Strath (N) - 10 goals; Look to have found some form and will be too fast and strong for the Eagles.
Yank v Enc. Bay - 5 goals; Yank are probably a 10 goal better side, but with the chance of getting their first win, bays will play above themselves. Yanks crowd to help them over the line in the last.
Victor v Willunga - 7 goals; Will be close at 3 quarter time. The D's to turn it on for 10 minutes in the last and shatter any hopes of a Roos victory.
Compass v GPE - 5 goals; Playing with the support and backing of a whole community, will guts it out for another win. So long as they can stay on their winning way they will be hard to beat with the amount of belief and confidence building each week.

lol =)) !

Mclaren controlled the game all but the third quarter where we got a bit lazy and the umpires pulled some shockers in front of goal, that gave the tigers a sniff, and as everyone knows thats all they need to get going!

We are still adapting to the new game plan and for the hard work we are doing, we are not rewarding ourselves by getting it on the scoreboard!

I am surprised that this has not been brought up earlier in the week.
Mclaren V Yankalilla A GRADE
Last quarter and the scores were very close.
Yank player grabs the ball at centre wing, in front of the clubrooms and the crowd.

Runs on 45 degree angle towards the boundary and the end McLaren was kicking....I thought to get space and then tocentre the ball

BUT NO HE THEN PUTS ON A SPURT AND KEEPS RUNNING THE WRONG WAY AND KICKS 45 METRES THE WRONG WAY.
