Even early in the season the Bay pitch holds up reasonably well considering the rain they receive. One thing Enc Bay gives you is the opportunity to make runs, if you get forward and play straight then it plays well

it takes about an hour and a half to put them down on friday night and if theres a juniors game there in the morning it means 8 or more blokes rocking up at sun up to take them off, dry the heshan and re-roll the wicket. its not a small operation to put the covers down. if we had a heap of blokes that would come down on friday night and help put them down and then take them up again at 6 o'clock on saturday morning then we would do it every week, but we dont.
also we dont know how it will play until we play on it. you can look at it and say it will be good for batting but there is always something in it for both teams. yes winning the toss is important but not as important as playing straight and bowling good line and length. which is not what you guys did when we played you there. so you didnt win. we got your 60 odd runs 5 down you cant say it dried out and the ball wasnt moving because it was. difference was we had blokes who play straight and bat with patience and then we have mods who can hit 25 off one over and win the game. all things you guys dont have.
the way tim clarke batted that day was the way everyone of your bats should go bout it. he made 30 odd and top scored for the day i think. he played straight and with patience and thats why he made runs.
any way enough of the turf talk, as the people who have a dig clearly dont know whats involved in caring for it. and until your clubs get turf wickets you never will.

I personally couldn't give a rat's a**e about T20, but am a little bit bored and feel the Encounter Bay pitch discussion is getting a bit long in the tooth!!

realisticly that probably wont happen but i think i would be a good idea.
also make the 30 yard circle mandatory. on all grounds.

Unfortunatley 75% of the players in a club wouldn't have a clue what goes on behind the scenes to get all the teams on the park each week. 25% of the people do 100% of the work and the others just are happy to reap the benefits without putting in any effort. From reports this year the Bay wicket is very sound and in good condition compared to majority of the wickets in ATCA. Played on some very dodgey wickets there.

they have 2 teams this year so there isn't a bye in A's
