No thats not what I mean at all. There won't be any merger and 13 teams will compete next season. You can work it out from the cryptic clues.

So we've gone past the deadline of 8th April - does anyone know what happens now?

Obviously a merger has not been arranged - and never would have been in 2 weeks - so we wait for SACA to issue a statement on Monday?
Or is there a board meeting?
I still can't actually see them punting a club.

Exactly.
Fulfil the demands of the SACA to shut them up, and tell them only the basics.
Behind the scenes, it's a need to know basis, and the SACA don't need to know what's happening. They'll find out sooner or later.
They'll get told what the clubs are doing, when the two clubs are good and ready, and not before hand.
13 sides will be competing next season, and that won't be changing after next season is finished.

NT News reporting that they will be involved with the Premier League (or Whatever it becomes) for another 3 years.....

The South Australian Cricket Association board has confirmed the SACA Premier League will continue for another three seasons with the Northern Territory involved

Wonder what the new merged clubs name will be, Western Districts? West Adelaide?

Will SACA let them dictate the timline? or will they be forced to merger before 2017/18. Interesting times ahead especially for the players.

West Torrens already has the strong junior program in place. Good numbers, good facilities, great location. Use the SACA's offer of $500k to work out club room arrangements and investment in more turf nets etc. Use the Power branding associated with Port Adelaide. House both clubs history, honour boards etc.

The SACA board recommends the juniors at Henley and seniors at Port Adelaide. Can't see that working. Has to be one club if a merger happens. The old West Torrens and Port clubs would be getting shafted, but that is what happens in a merger.

You wont have to worry Aerie. There won't be any mergers. Certainly not between West Torrens and the Swampys.

Think Oyster is just a passionate WT supporter. I don't share that confidence being involved closely, as SACA have lots of finances behind them to keep challenging us and Port, and will eventually get what they want.

I do believe will be 13 teams next year, but only 12 in 2017/18 though, unless we can really rattle them with what is planned in next fortnight! Can only pray and hope that happens.

Would of thought that SACA would of had every scenario covered considering their financial position over the clubs. If it does go down the legal path have the clubs got the $$ to cover their expenses and if they win will they have any left over to run a club effectively?

I wouldn't be confident SACA has any scenarios covered.

Good point Hound. Last thing Clubs can afford is massive Legal bills, but both Clubs have high profile people helping out, so costs low at this stage.

None of the SACA board would've had any idea of the flak they would cop. Gladly I can say, what they've copped so far, is only a drop in the ocean to what is planned over the next few months.
