Motion to add to both the above :-
“to give power to the Association executive, to change playing conditions when the BOM forecast a cool change for 12noon when earlier temperature of 40 degrees and above is forecast for that day and or either to shorten play by X numbers of over’s.”
and
“in finals all grades to play unless the forecast temperature is to be 44 degrees or above – games to have more drinks breaks”
and
“for section 1 grade – play for day to be cancelled only after the forecast temperature is to be 42 degrees or above.”

I don't support any of the motions. I think all 3 are ordinary.
1. cool change - it's very rare the maximum is hit before the afternoon, so it will only cause confusion for all concerned, plus an added headache for contacting every player to ensure they know what's happening on the day. Nup, no good. In the bin.
2. So it can be 43 degrees playing finals? Ok for the fit-as-hell 21 year old guy, how about the 40+ year old guys playing in the lower sections? What if it's wet, do we play on then too? Player safety trumps all and the same rules should apply in finals to that in a normal game. Not thought through, shouldn't be carried.
3. see points 1 & 2 - too much confusion and again doesn't make sense. Not only do section 1 play for an extra hour or more, they're now expected to play in greater discomfort? Player safety comes in again - it's the whole reason it was brought back to 40 degrees and higher.
Overall - I think ICC are making the whole thing way too complicated where it need not be.
