We played 75 overs yesterday with no dramas. Hard work for the batsmen for the first 30 but after that it was fine conditions. Pitch didn't look any worse at the end of the day than after any normal week.
Danny Southern telling Plugga he's fat, I'd like to see that!

We started half hour late, but the Pitch was fine, just wanted to let the sun hit it a bit more. Played the whole days worth and the Pitch come out tip top

Parklands were fine. Some heavy showers lasting for two or three minutes during the day but managed to bowl full overs and pitch was in fine nick.

Wow that really surprises me, are you saying they couldn't fill the team? Last year they had 4 teams, this year 3, but only had 2 last week. hope they can get one up. they have always been a power in LOA's.

Concordia probably spat the dummy over the conditions of the pitch, never met a bigger bunch of front runners in my life

Common sense tells me that concordia didnt have enough players hence the forfeit. Pretty strange state of affairs considering Modbury (and well done lads) drove all the way done to Reynella to see a soft, wet wicket and drive all the way back home.
We at Reynella knew there was no chance of play. The umpire turned up early and he didnt hesitate in calling it off.
Surely there has to be a better way to handle the inclement weather policy.

A2 teams are not permitted to have covers i'm led to believe so it makes it tough to get wickets up after the weather last week.
This week preperation could be hampered by the weather again.
Solution:get sponsorship or grants from saca or c.a. for all clubs to have full square covers. Maybe they pay 50% or more, and the clubs pay the rest.
There must be a better way to fair up the comp because at the moment its not a level playing field. If you are relegated from A1 and you have covers, are you not going to use them? I doubt it.

I agree with you in relation to the grant, it would be great for all clubs to have covers in A2 or even across all "A" grade clubs. You might be onto something, probably need someone to formally put something forward to SACA in a letter.
The secret impresses no one. The trick you use it for is everything.

I have been told it will actually be SPOC with the forfeit.. Prepared the wrong pitch for day 2 of the match! Not rocket science that 2 day game must be played on the same pitch I wouldn't have thought.

And interesting call heater- who do u play for?

I'm only speaking from my experiences with them when I played a season of turf for Goodwood. Played A3 all year and stumbled across these idiots in the last round and they thought their shit didn't stink. They beat us with the aid of some dodgy umpiring and then proceeded to sledge us and yet we were our Club's 2nd side  Felt rather good when I ripped them a new one during their 2nd dig

Any club can have covers if they wish, its up to the clubs to fork out for them, as Port District have done in the last 12 months.

On the full square covers, getting enough people to help getting them on and off could be a problem for some clubs. Full square covers are at least a 2-3 person job.

Thats not what ive been told but i could have been mis-informed. And i will check. In my experience if you dont cover the whole square water leaches under the covers anyway and the pitches adjacent get soaked.

Port Adelaides a grade ground only got full square covers at the start of this season. Water won't get under a single pitch cover if they are put on correctly.
