Following this the Brighton Batsman was then tackled to the ground by an AHOS fieldsman. Anyone know anything further cos you would expect this incident could have severe ramifications for not only the players but the clubs involved as well. The A1 competition is the last place you would expect an incident like this to happen.

Brighton Batsman, Adelaide High OS Skip and Player all reported. Batsmen for striking, Skipper for sledging and other player for breaking it up?? Yeah he hit him after some constant sledging, but now may receive a lengthy holiday.

Goodwood will need a few more bats to step up by I can see this side pushing the four at the end of the year.

Opened up and was a cosistent 20-40 man but didn't go on with it. Very agressive bat likes to hit over the infield. Just needed to learn how to pull back a little and work the ball when the field dropped back.

While we won't pretend that Wazza is an angel, the 'constant sledging' was pretty tame in comparison to what is have seen from him and others in the past. He suggested the batsman's dad should have stuck to umpiring rather than shout abuse from the sidelines (which he had done all of the previous week). The batsman first shoved Wazza and then as Wazza turned to walk away hit him from behind. The first slip (a police officer) ran in and tackled him the batsman to the ground as he stood over Wazz who had fallen to the ground. The way the batsman snapped suggested there was something more than the bowler getting at him. All the Brighton boys were quite shocked and embarrassed but to their credit, came in for a beer after the match and said they would help out the lad who obviously has some deeper issues than sledging......
Not pretty and will be interesting to see how the ATCA handles it tonight.
