Doubts on Peter Markers future at Glenelg
In the last round in 1977 , Marker broke an ankle that required a steel plate
MARKER
Gutsy and talented midfielder for the bays,
Is a member of the 200 game club
QUESTION
Is he better than Kane Cornes ?
Would Marker have been a gun in the VFL if he played there ?

Peter Marker was a sensational footballer who never gets the recognition a number of his counterparts do.

Pretty reasonable commentator too. One that is well worth aspiring to. Calm, accurate, not overblown with hyperbole, called it as he saw it, not what he hoped/wanted to happen. One that I really enjoyed listening to, and have studied over the years.

Loved the (true) story that as a youngster at Glenelg playing in the Seconds, Marker would leave straight after the game so that he could watch his beloved Roosters play.

The best.
Never lost sight of the fact that the game was - and still is - the real 'star'...
