The statement shows clear intent to make the finals (as the Power still should be aiming for) and can be referred back to later on if the club starts to lose a few games and looks like missing the major round. Unlike last year, when Williams said the club was looking towards 2009.

I think its just a cop out, didn't they start him on Swan in the 3rd & he knew he was in for hiding & put the white flag up simple as that.
They needed an excuse for the loss & used the Cornes & Thomas injuries as that.

wouldn't be to many players that would be 100% fit this time of year...alot of players always carrying niggling injuries
