There's your problem. Had Port dismissed Bamford after a dismal Foxtel Cup campaign, it might have made the half-game difference needed to make the finals.

Fact is, the competition provided two chances for our kids to get away as a team and have experiences that not many SANFL players get.
I think it was possibly a mistake for West to take part, but for North and us it made sense.
If I were Glenelg I would consider taking part next year. They might enjoy the one or two wins it could offer them.
