Not going to be an easy game next week for either team (and I reckon should be a beauty for neutrals), but I reckon the Dogs will react to their poor form today so your boys would need to be on song.

If Sturt are on song and Centrals don't match it, Sturt will win by 10 goals.

If Central are on song and Sturt don't match it, Central will win by 5-6 goals.

Neither side is any better or more of a favourite than the other, its a 50-50 prospect and anything less than their best will see the side duly punished. Both sides should be going into the game confident IMNSHO.

That's the way I see it too. Sturt are capable of really belting teams when they get on top while when the dogs win they seem to do just enough. The one exception this season was the ANZAC day game when we belted Glenelg.

Norwood were able to make our forward 50 so congested

Wow, that's almost a compliment!

Actually, it really is. They did what they had to do in the situation to win the game. There's a huge advantage to having the score on the board. We were forced to attack the forward 50 and in a sense it means if Norwood do manage to get it forward there should be a lot of space. That is exactly how it turned out, all because Norwood were able to beat us early and get the score on the board.

Pretty ordinary standard of game today.

As a contest, sure it was good because of the drama and how close it was. As a standard of footy I don't think either team will be thinking they played their best. Skills, discipline workrates were all a bit below what we're looking for.

Perhaps Norwood can find something out of this win. Personally, I don't think winning the last game of the year makes any difference if you're out of the finals. But perhaps it gives the coaching staff an indication of who can play the level and what some of the guys are really capable of.

The doggies have had trouble with Norwood for a few years now. We have had to come from behind even when we won. That is why I had been tipping Norwood to be a force this year. I don't know why they then drop games against lower teams. Maybe a new coach will get them playing more consistantly.

I have just been informed that I was wrong to say that Norwood have dropped games against lower sides. I guess it would be more accurate to ask why Norwood can give the doggies trouble but drop games against teams lower than the doggies.

That was the way I read your first post anyway mate, and who knows ... Personally I think addressing the coaching concern that existed at the start of the season was a significant (albeit too late) step.

I think Mal was pretty accurate in his last post, the earlier Parade meeting between these two teams was of a higher standard, and probably a better quality contest.

Whether it helps any into the future remains to be seen, but IMHO it was critical for Norwood to arrest the mental hold Central have had over them - As I said this game doesn't necessarily give Norwood any edge, but another loss after leading for so long could surely have been detrimental for the Legs.

A lot of Norwood players have carried around some bad mental baggage for a long time, I think it's important the current crop of kids don't get tainted with the same scars
