Gowans and Schubert across centrals half forward line, didnt actually see what happened but James ended up on the ground, got up (and i told the people around me to keep an eye on James.) next minute he did what he did.I think this was complete brain fade by him. I honestly didnt feel very good after the incident because i would hate that to happen to anyone on my team, or any team.
People bag the Gowans but this is the first time they have done anything like this.
Chris had nothing to do with it so why people are putting him in this is beyond me.
James should never have done what he did, it was a disgrace really.
When it happened i turned to the people i was with and said this is the last time we will see a Gowans in a centrals jumper.
People can say what they like about the Gowans boys (and they do) but they always give you something to talk about. They have been great for SANFL footy (except for this incident)
Problem is this one incident will over ride a great game by the dogs.
I think 6 weeks is probably about right.
Dog's fans need not worry about this game being remembered for Gowans cowardly act. HE will be remembered for it. The other thing I took away from todays game is just how good Centrals actually are. Centrals were awesome today. I hope some Adelaide Crows players watched the game because Centrals presure and effeciency were something you would expect to see from and AFL side. Surely Roy Liard now needs to look beyond the SANFL for his next challenge. Every single Central player knew EXACTLY where they were supposed to be for every contest and you could see Laird has the total respect of his playing group. They play for him and each other as if their lives depend on it. Well coached, way to strong, to classy, to damn good.
Thanks for the clinc Dogs and well played.
