Fair enough, but winning a wooden spoon in this 'second rate' league counts for 10 pre-Crows then.

No worries 'MD', I like your thinking. So extrapolating your theory further, that means our other
26 premierships now become 260 flags! Yep, we can live with that.

Can I assume the 'Mopar' half of the name means you're partial to wheels of a Chrysler nature ?

Big talk out of the Riverland is that Roy has given the all clear for Pumpa to play for Berri this weekend as a favour for them letting him play for Centrals last year. Huge in for Berri if true.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep

Good stuff if true, his is in great form at the moment so let him run with it.

Glad Central are reciprocrating the good faith shown by Berri last year. Hopefully if there is an up and coming gun from Berri they will send him down to the Ponderosa.

DAMN, im looking for a game to attend this week that would of been great a day trip up to the Riverland.

With Gunston being dropped from the Crows is that because of injury? If not will he be playing for South Adelaides reserves.

I'm just working on Sabre's figures.
Five premierships in a 'first rate competition'.
What's going on that Norwood can win so many flags in a first rate comp but none in a second rate comp?

Glad to see Norwood folk have not reacted by inferring that champions like Gary Window, Peter Vivian or
John Platten were hopeless failures in any way.

Let’s be fair gentlemen, could you please ask Messrs Jonas, Clarkson and Laird just how successful they would
have been as coaches in a club facing the player loss, bankruptcy and extinction that was Macca’s lot?
I’m sure they’d tell you the truth. To take us through our darkest hours and to survive meant more at the time
than any Premiership.

Gary McIntosh remains an ultimate achiever on and off the field. Best of all, he told those Vic @rseholes where
they could shove their filthy loot on many occasions. I think we can lay off South Australian ‘football royalty’
from ALL clubs.

And just for fun, I believe since 1964 ……….
Wooden spoons: Norwood - 2, Central - 2
Premierships in a first rate league: Norwood - 5, Central - Zero
;)

Just interested in whether Norwood fans are counting 1997 as a first rate comp flag or not. If so does is the concept of first rate and second rate merely associated with Norwood's rating as a first rate or second rate SANFL club?

Also on the point of McIntosh, he might have been in charge of the team when the club was going through a rough time off field, but he was just the coach. Credit for keeping a club afloat goes to the board, CEO and the other off field people. I'm sure you can have a go at Gary Window's coaching record because even Centrals fans say how bad he was.

And was the 1878 premiership won against first rate opposition? Or what about the 1883 premiership?

Gunston was omitted. Not sure if he is travelling as emergency.

Andrew Hayes mentioned on LifeFM today, doing Special Comments, that his recovery from the groin injury is coming along alright and he might be back in 3 or 4 weeks.

thought i might bump this thread as Central have the week of and there is plenty of Central discussion to be had, saves clogging up other match preview with Central stuff.

Who will have a run in the reserves this week, possibly Chris Gowans, Lee Spurr also who are your ins and outs for the second semi final.

Another benefit of Centrals having the week off is not having to play on what looks to be a 31 degree day for the EF/QF.
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10
