Rnd 4 - West v North POST GAME DISCUSSION

All discussions to do with the SANFL

To stop flooding, go back to a 2 man bench - No side will have the runners to cope with less interchange to run up and down the field - The sub rule has already improved the flood stats in the AFL.

We should have left the game alone years ago

More on the bench helps clubs with greater depth anyway.

Less players would increase strenght of all grades in the SANFL by one player. Less match payments - More long kicking and will bring the high mark back later in the games when it slows. The case that there will be more injuries doesnt work - The players are more tired with less interchange and collisions are not the high speed impact later in the game. Remember those heroic wins your side (whoever you support) had with 16 men and two gutsing it out in a forward pocket often taking that mark and scoring to win a game. It brought about that spirit of never say die. Maybe I'm a romatic for old style contested footy but this flooding game does not work. West have the player to be in the top five but wont get there when the midfields get the ball look up and have to go sideways because there is no one forward of 50.

well i was at the club last night and nobody i repeat nobody harrassed collins so your info is wrong
yes we do not like his game plan but we can not do anything about it
plus the club can not afford to pay him out
what we have to do is put pressure on our committee
so we will just have to wait and see
but just keep putting shit on us like you do
we are getting use to it

during the last 1/4 of the reserves, north warmed up behind me in the south western pocket. no sh!t it was like they already played the first 1/4.how things have changed.

funny how people see the game differently. i thought it was an entertaining game. norths forwards were never going to be affective with the flood type west played so that tactic worked well for them i thought.jimmy allan is a superstar in our comp , love him or hate him you got to admire the way he goes about his business.

lovin life this week!!

Every Sanfl club floods, that is the way the game is played now, 32 players often at one end of the ground. It is a joke. Collins in his 5th year. In a 9 team comp where 5 teams play finals, to not participate at all is not good enough. Time to go at seasons end Collo

Are you R&B in disguise, West are by far the biggest flooders and most unattractive side to watch in the SANFL, almost certain 90% of sanfl supporters who dont follow West would agree.

32 players often at one end of the ground. Obviously watched to many Westies games, is very rare to see it in Central games except when we play West.

Correct. No coincidence that the game opened up when we were left with 1 and at times none on the bench after half time.

Thats not the interchange though, thats because Collins instructs his players to flood. No flooding in the SA v CD game, despite no injuries.

LOL, most teams get numbers back behind the ball at various times during a game ... but it is the major pillar of West's game plan and is plan A, B, C and D.

1 time agreed

I will elaborate
The Interchange as I understand, was created to cater for injured players ?
Somehow SOME coaches are using it as a tactic
Part of this tactic process involves flooding, zoning, or whatever
These coaches are rotating off the Interchange and playing players in bursts, making zoning etc a tactic
Ive seen it with my my mob SK
Ive seen it with your mob NA not so long ago
