Bad kicking = bad football and 3 gettable goals at the end of the 3rd quarter and early in the last cost us dearly. I believe we didn't give north the respect they deserved and as a result, we have lost some respect.
I disagree with some of your post. I think the Eagles did show North respect and you could see from the outset with the "argy bargy" their was tension so there has to respect from both camps plus the fact the Eagles did their homework on Alleway and never gave him any space for 3/4's also showed respect. North certainly did respect the Eagles with Gallman niggling and tagging Lewis out of the game however with the Eagles it is running players like Treeby and Jarrad that seem to always dominate. Powell was very very good as was Grocke as usual against his former club.
You might argue the Eagles missed some "gimme" goals but so did North - 4 set shots in the first plus a Gill "classic" in the second didn't help us either.
Regardless of the result (easy saying that when you win!) we are playing a much better style of football under Francou but we have to not rest on this win and build on it. What worries me is that we may not see the likes of D. Armstrong, K. Thompson, Teasdale and Clisby past this year.
Fair points! By lack of respect, I'm refering to the fact that it seemed that the Eagles thought they had done enough to win the game early in the last quarter and didn't respect the fighting qualities of north and by the time they realised they were in trouble, it was too late.
