Money talks I guess !!!

Come on BB  It's got nothing to do with $. The guy feels he still has something to offer football wise, and he is North Adelaide through and through. He first played for us as a 16 year old and his old man played for us.

Thought Hart made it fairly clear in the article he was both looking to get drafted again and also further his coaching career. Nothing wrong with that but just didn't read anything about 'love of the jumper' or 'putting something back'.

A great player in his day who hasn't yet accepted his time has past him by at AFL level. If he stays fit and focussed in what is a team sport he'll burn for North though.

Oh yeh, salary cap etc etc. :D

This is probably where it is @ as far as dollars go at a guess and is all speculation !!!

I would say his job @ the crows would be good coin & most of his North wage will fall under his coaching requirements. So as far as his playing contract goes it would be fairly small.

I actually dont have a problem with this and a few others could probably learn from this model if they already dont.

what the sanfl need to do

Postby bayman » Tue Dec 19, 2006 6:53 pm

with ben playing on & i think he should, the league should get him to do adds both on tv & more importantly at footy park during afl games with kids watching it & ben telling the kids go & watch your local team play (i prefer state team play) because the kids know ben they dont know tim shaw but lets 'use' ben as a marketing tool etc
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Yes! Bookmark this quote, but having said that, it would be unlikely this would happen - of course.

Also, in addition to Hart, get other players in the ad as well like Skipworth, Waterhouse, Ladhams, Walsh etc.

I have more respect for Tim Shaw as a person than Skipworth (please enter behind the play lowlife act) and come to think of it I saw him kick ball once so have more respect for him as a footballer than Clive Waterhouse.

Not to say I don't respect Peter Walsh, but to compare him to Ben Hart is a little bit rich.
Hart has a much higher profile than Walsh, most of us have watched him grow up, while Walsh (not his fault) was mostly off our radar when he moved to Melbourne.
He also isn't as highly decorated and his profile has never been as high as Hart's.
I understand the sentiment Dash, but it ain't quite the same.

Hmm a sure way to increase the stress at North if that was the case!

In fairness I believe he was their last premiership captain.

Hart was the Jack Oatey Medallist. Klompy was skipper.

I think dash was comparing the way the salary is paid with regards to assistant coaching, not comparing the playing careers.

I agree that Walsh isn't as highly decorated in the AFL but will be a terrific SANFL player I reckon could be a good chance for the Magarey.
