SANFLnut wrote:Is it on again next year? Which SANFL teams will play? Did South get the jump on others by not playing? I thought it was ok for Westies and only an injury to Hartlett was negative. Not the reason for our demise IMHO. Interesting to see if any top sides change their mind or if South get on board?

North and Port's and scoring ratios improved 3.5% and 5.8% (of aggregate) respectively in their last 12 matches compared to their first eight. North's winning record markedly better (six from 12 compared to one from eight), Port, 5/12 vs 3/8.
West's figures in the same time are -14% and 3/12 versus 5/8.
That said, one season far too small a sample to draw any serious conclusions- a "fact" not not lost on anyone, I'm sure.

Williamstown play in one VFL prelim final next week and the winner of the Bullants v Nth Ballarat this week play in the other so we can track those two Foxtel Cup teams as well. Will they fall over in the last quarter next week?
Not that I think this means one thing or another in relation to the theory in this thread but I'll put these facts up for the sake of a balanced thread (and to stir up those Centrals fans who keep posting about the Foxtel Cup!).

Nobody can say there is any benefit at all. Also nobody can deny the chance it may have an adverse affect on a premiership tilt. Until we know there is no bad to it I want Centrals to steer clear. We exist to win SANFL flags, not participate in some made up knockout cup that several rivals won't be in.
