OK a heap of emotional reactions to this

1 - I think Boyd is one of the better players in the SANFL

2 - salary gap, what a f****** joke

3 - SANFL needs to be carefull that a wealthy club like centrals does not dominate the competition and destroy what it is.

4 - recruiting stars from others clubs, says a lot about the lack of beleif that they can develop a player from with in.

5 - it has taken ten years of admiring they went about it for me to change my mind and now hate centrals.

I think thus far it's quite interesting. Booney,Whatever, No Mercy, Been Real can you think of anymore Port departures or arrivals ?

I think you also forget with an import rule coming in.Clubs may need to look closer to home. But dont forget this has been going on forever off the top of my head rocky roberts to norwood being one that sticks out like a broken thumb.
Boyd is an interesting case.Whatever the reason he wanted out .A new coach putting an extremely high price on his head to scare off the better clubs. It didn't work the way Ron thought.

Brett Ebert played all his underage at the Eagles but failed to prove his worth to Ron and ended up at Port Magpies. A Magarey Medal and plenty of AFL games later........

Perception could be wrong but less successful clubs seem/seemed to suffer most.

Though North's '87 premiership team had quite a few reffos from other SANFL clubs...

John Roberts (Woodville/Torrens)
Steven Sims (Torrens)
Craig Burton (West)
Kim Klomp (Sturt)
Darel Hart (Central)
Wayne Slattery (South)
Michael Armfield (Glenelg?)

Are you referring to North as one of the less successful clubs. Sure they are less successful than Port and Norwood, but that is the sum total of teams that they are less successful than.

He's saying those players who went to North were generally from less successful clubs.

I noticed that Eugene Warrior was at Norwood in Round 1 2000, then two weeks later he lined up for Glenelg. Is that correct?

Woosnam (west to sturt), Borholm (sturt to west), Hahn (port to west), Commane (centrals to west), Crowell (eagles to west). There would be 100s of them, if not 1000s.

Scott Stevens, the nude nut wingman, played a few league games late in his career at North after spending most of his career with the Dogs.
