I understand Adelaide were to offer "top up" players 6 week "contracts".

Play for North for 5 weeks in the reserves, 6 weeks with Adelaide Ravens, 8 weeks with North reserves, 3 weeks with Ravens in finals.

Smooth.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

A major part of the AFL clubs wish for a reserves team is so they are replicating the playing style of the AFL team so they can seamlessly step up to the AFL team.

Surely travelling interstate, becoming used to staying in a hotel the night before a game and then coping with return travel and recovery is part of the learning process of playing for the Crows & Power.

Why don't the AFL clubs want to properly replicate what it would be like to play for the senior team and have them travel most weeks to play in Melbourne and therefore join the VFL?

Sure it will cost more but we're being told that having full control over the players will create a more successful AFL outfit. This in turn will lead to both Crows & Power winning alternate premierships and generating big profits every year.

Problem solved.

We say that a development path resulting in limited options at SANFL level and no benefit to the AFL team is flawed.

Beeny says "but the juniors will have access to AFL level facilities".

We say "then the AFL-linked junior teams will have an advantage over normal SANFL teams"

Beeny says "but those teams are about development and shouldn't be fair"

And that, Beeny old son, is why we don't want development teams (i.e. reserves) in the SANFL league competition.

Obviously the Crows are pushing for the model that best suits them. Perhaps you'd like to explain the advantages of simply using a rotation of "top up" players and the implications for the competition.

We're not, we don't like any of the propsal

Don't worry Beeny, Port aren't any more special than the Crows in respect to this debate. In fact. if anything. like all things in terms of football in this state, compared to the Crows you're probably less special....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

That article says more about Rucci and his anti-Port agenda than it does about the PAFC.

He's so wrapped up in everyone being anti-Port, he continues to ignore that the majority of those whom he is debating with don't want AFL reserves teams in the SANFL. Just does not get it.

I get it plenty. I also get that in 2014 the reality is that there will be Reserves teams in the SANFL, because the Crows always get what they want.

So many of you wanting to cover your eyes and ears, screaming, "NO, NO, NO" will not make it go away.

The only debate by the SANFL Directors isn't if it happens, it is what model it will be.

Anyone caring to accept that reality is welcome to post their views on the advantages on the Crows model being implemented.

Oh, dear. It must be hard with two chips on your shoulder. You want people to use rationalism regarding Port Adelaide and then promulgate this perception, "because the Crows always get what they want."

And how do you know what SANFL directors are thinking, debating, deciding?

You're a goose.
