I'm pretty sure Josh Francou mentioned, post game, he was disappointed that Matt didn't take the rushed behind option...

He musn't have thought it through then.
If that umpire calls that holding the ball then if anyone attempted to rush anything through it would have been given an Eagles free kick in front of goals, absolutely no doubt.
In theory what Matt did had a 0% chance of giving away a free kick where if he'd rushed it through he would have being giving a free kick 50% chance of being played. He took the right option.

Campbell has taken 4 steps (plenty of prior opportunity) and then disposes of the ball illegally. No chance of in the back there.
I will suggest though the umpires looked bad both ways all day. North however were gifted a few goals from dodgy decisions. Stop your whining Roosters.

We got one goal from a free kick which was there - first quarter when the Eagles defender held Langford from having a leap at the ball. Gifted - the irony of you using that given the free against Campbell.
How can you tell how he disposed of it from the vision??? That is not clear yet everyone behind the goal and from the scoreboard / timeclock saw him get hit high and dispose of the ball with a handball. The only one who didn't see it was the umpire.

That goal came from 3 x 25m penalties. No team was gifted goals more than the other IMO.on the rails wrote:In that quarter we scored 3 goals and one was from a from a free which we wouldn't have been scored except the Eagles gave away a 25 that put Max Thring from outside the 50 into the 50. I suggest you watch the replay and see who got the gifted goals!
