not really because those that go will go anyway mind you if it happened to be wet a few fair weather supporters would stay home but the overall picture of promoting the competition this is the game that should be shown, so that makes this the right game to telecast & this should happen every week

Bays v Sturt at the Bay last year was the televised game, didn't affect the crowd too much...

I'm not surprised though, there has been a feeling of irrelevance attached to South all season really as far as media coverage goes. Comes with the territory of sitting bottom.

Disagree Mr Bayman
Saying this should happen every week is not neccessarily right
Theres a lot of people incapacitated, elderly, unable to afford to get to the game who barrack for the lower finishing teams
This is thier opportunity to see their teams as they cant get to the grounds for whatever reasons
There was one year in my life I was unable to attend 1 SANFL game and if I was a SA supporter I might not have seen them at all if we used your this should happen every week view.
Quite simply get every team on TV equally every year

But in saying this playing a game where a lower ranked team is going to get flogged is not going to help disinchanted supporters back to the footy. Eg WA V Sturt @ Unley CD V SA @ Elizabeth etc.
IMO one of the big pluses for televised SANFL is getting people back to the football. There is no point preeching to the converted, eg most of us on here, if we want to see glossy 'the best teams playing' football watch 7 and 10 with the AwFL.
At the end of the day the best way the SANFL is going to survive is to get as many bums on seats at ALL games as possible.
How does showing the best teams week in week out help the competition? When the strong get stronger and the weak get weaker it rarely works out well for anyone in the long run.
