What Team Do you Most Like to Beat?

Postby Wedgie » Thu Jan 25, 2007 12:48 pm

This was the question asked on nafc.com.au.
The results so far:

Port [169]
Central [94]
Eagles [29]
Glenelg [20]
Norwood [11]
Sturt [11]
South [8]
West [8]

Would it be fair to say that these sort of polls could be interchanged to a degree with the question "Which teams do you respect the most?"

What would the results be like at other clubs?

We polled it on Westies site and the top answer was

'Anyone'.

Yeah North supporters on the Roost suggested that too.
My personal suggestion was "anyone in a Grand Final".

You need to add another option for some of the "get rid of Jarman" North types on this forum

ha ha, are you talking about the fact that I would love to see Hargy kick 10 goals for Port in a winning side?

No wonder the Bays polled so lowly

Me, I like beating South the most. This despite the fact that I hate other teams far more than South.

Postby dash61 » Thu Jan 25, 2007 5:55 pm

For this westies supporter

1 Norths by a kilometer
2 Stink Eagles, their grek supporters annoy me
3 Most of all this year any win would do

As a Norwood supporter, people would suspect me to say Port Adelaide, but in the 70s and 80s I'd have to say the team I enjoyed beating the most was Glenelg. I think Graham Cornes had a lot to do with it :) Just of late, I'd say our wins over North and Central were the most satisfying.

The 1982 Grand Final loss still sticks in my guts!
But the 1984 Prelim when the Redlegs knocked off the Tigers (under Mr. 1 to 10)
& went on to be Premiers hurt even more!
However your dislike of Cornesy should've been directed towards the Panthers that year!
He returned as coach the following season & the next two years created history down Tigerland!
(Yeah mate, Bay supporters love living in the past eh! )
