Come to watch my brother in his Reserves Prelim final against West Adelaide.

Westies all over them at Quarter time-
5.2.32 to 0.3.3

Half time
West 8.7.55
Port 0.6.6

Westies are well on top, dominating the centre clearances and are more ferocious at the contest. The continuous skill errors and missed targets by Port coming out of defence and though the midfield is the thing that's providing West with continuous shots on goals and they've taken full advantage.

Three Quarter Time
West 11.7.73
Port 3.11.29

Port won the centre clearances and the inside 50's in the third term and started to take some marks inside 50 but just couldn't convert. Westies just steadied the ship when they needed too kicking three straight.

Full time
West 17.11.113
Port 4.12.36

Westies killed it today as the last quarter became a training drill for them and they capped their win off with some easy last quarter goals.

Port were obviously not fair dinkum then?
They were clearly the best side in the reserves all year weren't they?
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

What happened here? Was it the same team that played throughout the year?

Without knowing the details of who was playing for Port, I would hazard a guess that perhaps with the restrictions on the number of Power players allowed into the Magpies league team during finals, some of the better reserves players were promoted to fill the gaps, hence depriving their reserves of their best talent?
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

Spot on there Rising Blues. It wasn't quite the same team Dogs72. They definitely missed the guys that had to be premoted to the Power reserves for the finals- for example Sharrad, Grey, Young and Rudloff all played against West in round 16.

But that's the rules and they just have to deal with it.

Could be the last game for a few of them in the prison bars, The Dark Knight?

I think so BP. We'll see what the fallout of today's loss will be, maybe a few of the guys having interviews at other SANFL clubs over the next month or two.

I was talking to Luke Reynolds mum who is good friends with my mum about what Luke will do next year and she's certain that Luke will be at another club next season.

Tom Corcoran was very good today for the Maggies and you could tell he was disappointed after the game, lagging behind and slowly following his teammates off the ground. Almost an indication that's the last time he'll play in the prison bars?

Will the Eagles take a punt and play Jack Lukosius? They certainly have to do something about their scoring options as McGregor and Gaffney have scored bugger all between them this season. Go Eags, time to get back playing the style of footy that got us the minor premiership!

It is a move that Ronnie Fuller always loved to use, pluck a kid from the Juniors and play his first game in a Senior Final, reckon he had a bit of success doing it to!

Stokes and Vince are two that he did this with. Paul Stewart possibly as well? Hadn't played many games before the premiership anyway. Go Eags!
