Irra, who boasts outstanding pace, collected 28 disposals, six marks seven tackles and two goals in the Reserves last round.

South coach Brad Gotch must trim his extended interchange bench by one player before the bounce, with ruck/forward Codey Ellison, midfielder Nic Schwarz and utility Jackson McMahon also named on the pine.

South by 4 or 5 goals. Irra could be handy on Adelaide Oval if he manages to earn a spot come finals time.

Not a lot on the end of this one. Hoping for a Crows win naturally but I think South in a close one.

Panthers to win the dead rubber (in more ways than one).

Yes, Liddle to be gained by the Panthers in winning this one. Conditions should suit Taylor, who should cut them to Ribbons.

Well done South.

Any reason why Van Berlo didn't play? Was he under a cloud before the game?

Haren, Gulden and who else?

At a guess maybe Hitchcock?

Ta, BP. Nothing to do with keeping a player with finals experience fresh in anticipation of the first week of AFL finals?

Great win by South ..all over at halftime after the Panthers booted 6 goals into a strong northerly breeze.
It came at a cost with Haren now gone for the year and 2 others under an injury cloud. He joins Rolfe, Redigolo and Veide on the sidelines for the rest of the year.
Interesting point....South have recently moved the boundary in at Hickinbotham Oval to replicate exactly the dimensions of Adelaide Oval.....

No different to Alberton this year as well.....the boundary was a country mile away from the fence to replicate the same width as Adelaide Oval.

Very good first half from South and if it weren't for some wasted opportunities in the third term could have won by a lot more. The last quarter was a bit of bore as both clubs played out time.

Pleasing to see a few of the 'fringe' guys named in the best- Taylor and Durdin. Usual suspects of Cross, Seccull, Liddle, Rose and Crabb were good. Eddy's rich vein of form continued with 5 majors.

Always satisfying beating the bubble boys, even if it was a 'dead rubber'.

The injury list has started to mount at the wrong time of the year unfortunately. Have a few guys waiting in the wings that have played plenty of senior footy at least.

Does anybody know the last time South's reserves played finals? I recall a GF loss to Glenelg in 2007, but struggle to remember a finals appearance since then.
