Plenty of people didn't think Clarko had the temperament either.

He hasn't got a stable temperment - hard to control when you have little man's syndrome HOWEVER he has proven himself as a great coach and could write some records before he finishes.

Clarko is still bit of a physco but he has won 4 flags as a coach.

whilst the Gowans were hot heads at times, also remember they were rather successful players without say having alot of pace or athletic ability. What they did have is good football brains.

And a decent right hook.

No disrespect intended how many games had he played for Norwood ( I just cannot remember him) and where is home?

Good luck to him with his personal reasons

Don't think he played any league games. Only came over this season and tore his hammy early on. His first game back he broke his wrist. Returning to Melbourne, hope all ok as it was a pretty sudden decision

He was fairly well sought after I believe and from the one ressies game I saw him play I thought he looked to have ability. Shame to see him go, but as such no loss on our 2015 team I suppose, due to the aforementioned injuries keeping him out.

That's too straight forward Big Phil, I like it better when you say things like "Rumour has it a big bloke from a club which features a four legged animal as its mascot will be returning to a place that rhymes with snails. "
Give us a chance to work it out ourselves big fella! ;)

This footy club sounds very exotic. Disappointingly, they're from the Riverina and their emblem is simply a lion. I guess two Grong's don't make a right.

The WWTFC is delighted to announce the signing of Jarred Redden and Cameron Giles.

Redden, 24, returns to club on a permanent basis after 7 years with the Port Adelaide Power where he played 16 games. Redden who progressed through the Eagles junior ranks and was a member of the 2011 League Premiership side will be a fantastic addition to our ruck division, with the ability to play forward.

On Jarred’s signing Football Manager Luke Powell said “To be able to entice Jarred back to the Eagles Football Club is a fantastic result. Jarred has great flexibility in being able to excel in the ruck as well as be a more than valuable forward. Jared is excited about working with our midfield group, his body is in great shape and he is enthusiastic about having a long and successful career with the club”

Giles, 20, returns to the club after 2 years at Carlton hampered by a foot injury. Cameron, another product who progressed through the junior ranks will predominantly play as a key defender or forward, but has the ability to play higher up the ground as he has outstanding endurance levels.

On Cameron’s signing Football Manger Luke Powell said “After a wretch run for 2 years due to injury, we are delighted to welcome Cameron back to the club. Cameron has tremendous amount of upside in his footy now that he has overcome his injuries. Cameron’s size and fitness levels will allow him to play numerous roles throughout the year. Cameron is looking forward to having a full year of football and is determined to play a big role in future success for the Eagles”

Please join the WWTFC in welcoming both Jarred and Cameron back to the Club.

The WWTFC are still actively involved in recruiting and will look to announce more signings in the coming weeks.

It is with regret the WWTFC would like to announce the departure of Sam Martyn and Fraser Thurlow.

Martyn, who has played 27 League games, took great strides in 2015 to establish himself as consistent league footballer. Sam has been given the opportunity to enhance his University studies in Canberra for the next two years. In this time he will play for Eastlake in the NEAFL. Sam has indicated that once his studies are complete he would like to explore the opportunity to return to the Eagles Football Club.

Speaking on Sam’ departure Luke Powell said “While its disappointing to lose a player like Sam who has exceptionally running ability and a great attack on the footy as well as being such a loved character around the club, we fully support Sam decision to set up his working life. We wish Sam the very best and thank him for his contribution, whilst hopefully looking forward to his return in future”.

Thurlow, who only manage one season and 9 games with the Club, has decided to return to his home state of Queensland to finalise his studies that can’t be completed in Adelaide. The WWTFC is disappointing in losing Fraser after investing a lot of time to get him to the Club. We wish Fraser all the best for the future and the door is always open for a return.

Although disappointed with the departure of these players we are also excited to announce the retention of players identified as the future of our club. The following players have shown their commitment to the Football Club for Season 2016;

Matthew Appleton, Angus Poole, Joseph Sinor, Jake Von Bertouch, Thomas Schwarz, Ethan Haylock, Sam Rowland, Tom Whittlesea

Nice overview of the Eagles work so far but let's take a bit of mayonnaise off the obvious!
Martyn was basically playing League footy only because he had leg speed above most of the rest of
Godden's squad and was a dead set Reserve grade specialist.
Refer to his GF performance If there's any doubt, plus week in week out he looked ok coz he was in a winning
side ( passenger ).
The Eagles have probably a dozen kids to try out on the wing with plenty of potential rather than Martyn taking up
a spot! Upgrade here a certainty.
Thurlow while showing signs and having nice size, really didn't grab his chance when fit ie. especially in the GF, BUT that
goes for all players except for Michael Wunke
3 well paid ruckman is one too many these days and Redden is a Premiership player with talent and size.......
Upgrade here also.
Now the bull dust has settled on another GF loss at Oval Ave, let's drag out the Big question left over from that game.
Why didn't our senior players turn up and perform as a group ( Wunke & Allmond excluded ) ???
Thommo, Guiffreda, Goldsworthy, Lewis, Raymond, Jarryd, Ainger, Hall, Petrenko ( although hurt hand ), Martyn and Thurlow
couldn't be happy with their performances when asked to show how good they were.
Leadership should be the No. 1 Recruit for 2016 and won't cost any transfer $ as it mostly must be found from within!

This is a bit harsh. I've seen the lad play a few good games. We have to look at all he positives in 2015 and improve on them, not bag our players. We only lost 2 games in the regular season and the big one.
