So we've got two days to make 412. Should be a fairly simple task.

Yeah you'd think so. Winning is certainly not impossible from here, the batsman just have to pull there finger out their arse.

A few minutes before stumps Jimmy Anderson came in to bat
Mark Taylor expressed an opinion
What he said, was something like this :
He suggested that England should declare
With no time left that it would be stumps
The reason why
He said what could happen is that Jimmy Anderson might get hit in the arm and be unable to bowl in the Australian second innings

Yep
I heard that
One of the most RIDICULOUS statements i have ever heard from a commentator

Using that logic he may as well say that every batting team should declare 4 down as the wicket keeper at 7 and the 4 bowlers thereafter may all get hit and not be able to bowl or keep for the rest of the match.

The more you think about his statement the more ludicrous it is !

He does have a point though, Jimmy is one of the most gutless number 11's going around. Refuses to get his body behind the ball and bats on the square leg umps toes most balls.

In regards to chasing 412 for victory, wasnt that long ago South Africa made over 400 to beat Australia, The Redbacks made over 500 to beat Qld and only last week Pakistan chased 377 against Sri Lanka and were only 3 wickets down after being 2/12
Having said that, the Aussies best chance to avoid a loss is batting long enough until the expected rain arrives

Umm isnt the idea of the review system to get rid of the "howlers", umpires calls are not howlers. Its just the rub of the green how it goes, this match has gone with England.
Tests wouldnt last 2 days if everything nicking the stumps was given out

100% correct !

Yeah, reckon they have got it almost right. Only difference might be if not playing a shot then they lose the benefit of Umpires call, eg Bresnan in the last Ashes series in England.

What p!sses me off is the continual review of the no-ball after every wicket. Some of them, the umpires just must not be looking. What makes those balls more special than any others? So what if nothing happens, it is still a run that the batting side don't get, plus the extra ball could go for runs (obviously more important in one-dayers).

No balls should be a thing that is solved by technology by now. Whether they is just the third umpire looking and sending a signal down to the main umpire, or a sensor or something, but it is a terrible look for the game when they continually check it

After viewing Jimmys footwork in this test, it would be a surprise to him out LBW in this series

Yep, third umpire watching real-time every ball, decision can be down to umpire a split second later than if called on field, possibly just as players are starting to group together and so are still high on the emotion, on field umpires can worry about other things, enhancing their decision-making further.

England Thought they had Warner Caught behind. Umpire called Not out. Flicked Warners back pad.
