Two teams outside of the top eight declared themselves well in truly in the hunt for the Division V title after blasting out top scores in a round when everyone else collapsed quicker than an English batting order. Multiple Scorgasms ended Damaged Ink's unbeaten run with a score of 2200 and Victorious Secret went one better as they thumped White Line Fever to revive their finals hopes.

Former league leaders Jimmy crack corn's bubble popped in a big way as they were defeated by The Mine Crafters. Mr and Mrs Failed Creation went on with wins that see Failed Creation take over top spot on the ladder with Mrs Creation going nicely as well as True North now share a 5-1 record so far.

This round saw a couple of stragglers match up against each other and TheCrew scored more than usual but couldn't get the job done as Thiele Crows went on to win their second match of the season. In the battle of the b....eauties Footychick beat Lily which means that the Evil Penguins have opened their account for the season.

The gap between the haves and the have nots in Division VI increased over Round 7 with the contenders moving two games clear of 12th ranked White Line Fever who are stranded on two wins. Statistically, the top eight for this league should be St Brays Saints in for BrettsRazorbacks but the Sainters missed a chance to promote themselves after getting stomped on by gfc_firm by 128 points. A look at the Saints points against shows that they have played the guns already and managed to beat a few of them too. The run home should be favourable for St Brays.

Their main opponent for a top eight spot didn't capitalise though as BrettRazorbacks were thrashed by 354 by the ladder leaders Failed Creation. I'm not sure what Creation is too worried about in terms of pressure as his side is doing it on the bit at the moment. Early season point scoring pacesetter Jimmy crack corn put in another score under 2000 but still did enough to all but eliminate White Line Fever who are now two games plus percentage outside the top eight.

None of the bottom sides made any ground at all with Michelle/Kaitlyn's Team MK the lowest ranked side to win on the weekend. The two worst teams in the Hogg, iSwiTch and TheCrew are yet to meet in what should be a blockbuster.

There aren't many upsets at this level but there were a couple of big ones in Round 8 of Hogg Division V. The wonder elephants (twe) have been put on the extinction list in recent weeks but they went the charge on the weekend as they stampeded top four side Damaged Ink. It could prove to be a very costly loss indeed for Brenny as twe only fire up about once every six weeks and they did the Damage this time around. The other big upset was Victorious Secret who exposed Jimmy crack corn who have gone off the boil a bit in recent matches. Andy's recent form sees them an undercover chance of making the eight but realistically they are undiesdogs to qualify.

Despite all of these upheavals the ladder doesn't look a lot different with the same top eight as last week and the same dregs at the bottom.

Don't look now ladies and gents but Jimmy is back! After being down for a weeks Jimmy crack corn is cracking good scores again and giving the 'we are not a team' pair of True North and Failed Creation reason to look over their shoulders. Jimmy smacked the misfiring Damaged Ink who have gone from the top of the ladder to the pack fighting for the last few spots in the eight.

It wasn't all that good a week for the top two teams. Failed Creation stunk up the place but were lucky as they were only playing the Penguins who weren't good enough to reel in Creations ordinary score of 1756. Meanwhile, True North went South against BrettRazorbacks, a team I have been trying to slash from top eight contention for several weeks...but the big fellow won't go away and they are now 7-2 despite not being one of the leading scorers in the comp. Is Bretty picking and choosing his opponents here? If so he could be a more dangerous opponent than first thought.

The youngest coach in the Hogg, Mine Crafters had a slip up but luckily for them, so did their opponent gfc_firm. Both teams scoring was well down but it was the Crafters who got the win. Multiple Scorgasms consolidated their spot in the top eight and I reckon it might be them and Jimmy in the final later on in the year.

St Brays and Leisas Lovelies kept the pressure on the top eight with wins and a game further back Victorious Secret and twe did the same thing. Maybe two of those four at most make the eight so pretty tough for Andy and Wonder Elephants to make it I reckon. White Line Fever just can't seem to get a win in the board and they'll need to start soon but this week they went down to Leisas Lovelies so time is running out for WLF.

For the bottom teams it was business as usual but iSwiTch have been scoring a bit more in recent weeks and might not be all that far away from a win.

This was only Strawb's 10th win in 74 Hogg matches so it's quite an achievement here by Footychick to pick up the loss. Strawb's win sees iSwiTch as the only team in the Hogg to have a Burger Ring in the W column after ten rounds.

It was the usual suspects at the top of the ladder who got the job done though. My flag tip Multiple Scorgasms is on the march and they hit the top four at last after enjoying a percentage builder against fellow top eight side Brett Razorbacks who failed to flatter. Jimmy crack corn had to fight hard for their win over the cellar dwellers iSwiTch and True North and Failed Creation managed to win yet again.

Leisas Lovelies look to be a team to watch again after scoring a strong 1854 to put the kibosh on Victorious Secret but gfc_firm are defending their 8th spot in determined fashion after they had a tight win over White Line Fever who just can't buy a win this season.

Two spots up for grab but who wants them? That's the situation in Division V after BrettRazorbacks and Damaged Ink continue to lose their way. Good luck for them though is that Leisas Lovelies couldn't get by Jimmy crack corn despite a reasonable score. St Brays also had tough opposition as they got cleaned up by Multiple Scoregasms. Team MK have once again climbed back into contention after they cleaned up Thiele so not a bad comeback there from MichelleKaitlin.

The upset winners of the round could be happy with their efforts. The wonder elephants beat top eight opposition but somehow need to get on a bit of a roll to boost an unflattering percentage. iSwiTch cannot make the finals but can be a bit of a pest as in recent weeks their scoring has been up. The top six all look good things for the finals but remember two of them won't be going up to Divvy IV next seasons so plenty to play for, for those that are actually still playing.

After 12 rounds of Divvy V it appears that this league is the easiest one to predict how might things turn out in August. The top four sides are the genuine contenders and won't be losing any matches in the run home unless it is against each other. The top four look the teams to go up next year. Out of the rest possibly the next best side isn't even in the top eight and that is St Brays Saints who put a big hole in the Elephant's trunk last week with a massive win.

I reckon if the Saints make the eight they can win a final and be a tricky opponent in the Semi Final which one of the top four will need to win to earn promotion. One of Damage, Razorbacks, gfc and Crafters will miss out but which team that will be is tougher to guess. Bretty trades hard and as a result should now go on and make the finals in this league. Despite last week's snafu I reckon gfc is safe too. That leaves one of Damage or the Crafters who might miss out with both being in dodgy form in recent weeks.

Besides St Brays, about the only teams in the bottom ten to worry about would be iSwiTch and possibly White Line Fever who both might still be playing trying to get some late season wins in. Lily is starting to look at her side a bit more as opposed to Team MK and the Lovelies who are in a position to challenge but probably won't. The bottom three don't know what link to click on so Strawb looks like he has another Hogg spoon in his buldging kitchen drawer.

Back after two weeks and not a lot has changed in Divvy V. BrettRazorbacks has won ten matches now so that has booked Bretty's spot in the top eight as Damaged Ink continue to fail to impress. The Mine Crafters are back on track after a mini slump and gfc_firm left the door open when they were beaten by Leisas Lovelies.

St Brays Saints can't quite get a look in as their progress was halted by Team MK who aren't out of the finals race just yet. The bottom seven can't win it but Evil Penguins has managed to rack up a couple of wins to leapfrog iSwiTch. Strawb looks to have the Strawb Trophy as the worst team in the Hogg locked up for another year.
