Crows 2014

Talk on the national game

Lynch appears to be a key component of the Crow attack. With Pods, Jenkins and Lynch then thats hard to cover, when one is out the Crows are a bit easier to nullify. The Crows lost Jaensch as well and looked light on for troops.

But that first quarter with the breeze, at home, against Melbourne defied description. It seems to me that Adelaide did not respect the opposition and that is always costly. Even in selection with Walker given another week it reeked of "its only Melbourne".

Melbourne are playing a higher percentage type of game plan, which is an improvement on no game plan and the Crows appeared to lack a bit of patience going forward once they got back into the game.

Good post. We clearly didn't respect them, didn't come to play injuries early didn't help bit at home against Melbourne that's just an excuse

Sandersons press conference

"We had a 6 day break" - F**k me it was a Etihad
"We only had 2 on the bench"
"Melbourne had all there numbers behind the ball"

F**k is he serious.

You had more scoring shots and a shit load more inside 50's but put simply the crows foot skills are terrible. Your turn overs have been masked by playing poor opposition and getting over the line until today.

To much left to too few

Double AA and even SEN all week when discussing Walker, questioned whether the Crows should ease him back in this week "against, dare I say it, a weaker opponent"

I wonder if Adelaide have ever thought about improving goal kicking and tackling. Both have been an issue for about 5 years now

Our main issue was our delivery into the forward line, and just run in general

A coach cant come out with excuses in his presser like this. Hes just given his players an out and when it next gets tough they will take it.

Too many times going forward we just didn't lift the eyes and kicked to more often than not a 2 on 1 contest.

Losing Lynch didn't help but you need another game plan when numbers are behind the ball.

I see alot similarities with both sides I follow norwood &crows on how we are playing. Turn overs, lack of clearences , no forward line structure & crap shooting for goal.
What I dont understand is why there isnt a plan b or c. Its all about one game plan & sticking with it until it works . unfortunately when the game plan continually fails it needs to be tinkered with. Just like business you have to change if you are not making money. Waiting for it to change doesnt work never has never will. Sure if you have been succesful you could wait for a little while to see if things turn around but at some point you have to decide changes are required.
I often wonder why coaches today say the old ways dont work any more. You have to move with the times. Being a backline player when I played I would love to see an oppositions forward line empty. Not having to worry about whats is behind me would be gold. Seeing that tatic being continually done in todays game is beyond belief its not a bad tatic from time to time but its too hit &miss. it relies on quick transition & good team play with protection & quick movement. I dont see this at all in both my sides at the moment.
So please change it or the season will be over in round seven.

The great form of Jenkins and pods, and the fact it's only Melbourne helps too.

If we were playing collingwood this week I think he would play

BOG Paul Roos - WOG Brenton Sanderson. There's a lesson in coaching champ, you had the better team and got beat by a B grade side

Do we think he was out coached.

From my point of view i thought we saw a good all round team effort beat a team relying on a few players to do everything.

I think if they selected Ben rutten they would've won. He wouldn't have got monstered by Dawes the way that Hartigan did.
Losing lynch didn't help. Lost our structures for a while

Going on history Viney has to get games for that. Chose to bump and caused an injury.
