Hello all, just an idea to open up a thread about Adelaide Turf cricket as its web site gets a bit of use.

Which clubs have started pre-season and who has big plans for the year? both on and off field.

What the feeling on Darling as GM? My view is that he is going to take the association backwards after all the improvements Ramsey made. Will Rick ever listen to any clubs? Still many things on web site that need updating.

Lets hope we dont play on test match weekend this year

#1 Go the FUCCs

#2 Ramsey at the minute is **** up NT Cricket, acting on personalities. Senior coaches are refusing to work in at the NT Cricket offices and spending all their time at the NT Institute of Sport. Other ex-high performance coaches are concentraing on working in SE Asia and not with NT cricket.

Maybe he is okay when he works on his own (as the ATCA GM), but when he is responsible for staff......

Mind you in his defence he is working with a dis-functional board.

Staff are in fear off their jobs and are keeping their heads down. One person has been sacked purely on personality not because of how he works.

NB I can not name names as NT sport is too small and I don't want to drop mates in it.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

It would seem that Ramsey made some good changes as per the web site, but still have problems with games being called off due to the weather. One game last season was called off so we have trail game on the deck we were going to use, played better than it did the week before.

Guess its just hard as some clubs seem to get more rain around the foothills and the soil doesnt drain as well.

and how are the FUCC looking for this year?

Word around the Club is that our A's (Brighton) could well be missing 3 players from the sides that played in the Semi and Grand Finals last season.

One of the possible outs will be a big loss to the top of the batting order, one will open up the way for one of the best Off spinners around to get a regular game in A grade and the other only played a handful of games and will not be as big a loss.

I have not been to a training yet to find out first hand but that is the word that I have heard.

I'm sure a club with the depth of ours will have people come through and get an opportunity and will make the most of it.

Walkies have also picked up a ex Northern Jets player. Also heard that Woodville South have a new coach who used to play at Port Adelaide am pretty sure that he will be a playing coach.

Whats the thoughts on playing on Dec 23 and having Jan 6 off? I think it would of been better the other way round.

Also saw the provisional gradings the other day, a new LOE comp with new teams Adelaide Rockets and Port Adelaide coming in and Penfield/Elizabeth making a return with a couple of 2 day sides. Interesting to note that in A3 there will be 6 B Grade side competing - Brighton, Grange, PAyneham, Marion, Pooraka and Walkerville, with A Grade side Old Iggies and Hectorville both being relegated to B1

Jeff Vaughan to play at Hope Valley this season. Good addition, will give them a strong batting line-up. Wonder if that little fella from Concordia has had any sleepless nights after his "catch" in the GF last season?

Penfield/Elizabeth had 2 , 2 day teams last year have just included the Elizabeth int he name now as they have moved from the old penfield ground to Elizabeth, which was good enough for grade cricket so should be good enough for B3.

Also think there might be a few mistakes in the prov draw as I think Modbury have a team in B3, not Woodville South.

Any teams having trails in the next few weeks?

Don't mind playing on Dec 23 but either way i can't see why there is no play on Jan 6.

Where did you see the provisional gradings leftrightout? Are you a club official or involved with the Turf?
