What is the fastest internet speed at the best price in Australia?

I read many internet deals but I have no idea what is accurate.

You guys have helped me be4, and can be trusted.

Go You Dogs..... ;)

My internet speed with telstra is getting slower and slower by the day.

An indian fellow came to my door about a month ago and tried to get me to sign up to a home phone bla bla bla...

Going to change my broadband cable to a fibre something?

Only cost an extra $30/month.

I could hardly understand this man...?

I said Bugger off.

Since then my internet speed has slowly declined.

Sorry Bigpond. Enough is enough.
Smile :)

It's only Money $$$ :)

I'm with Adam on a 50GB/month plan at $60. It's a wireless ADSL2 connection. Seems to work alright.

You are not seriously connecting these two events are you?

If you are interested in the fastest speed available, sorry to tell you but Bigpond Cable is the quickest (30m/bit in SA).

Hey DropBear, why don't you change to their Ezy Choice setup - 50 GB = $50 (unless like me you're doing the VOIP thing too then it is $60)

Wireless ADSL2+ = AdamMax I'm guessing.

FYI new Adam Plans will be announced today.

I have a certain feeling of deja vu about this thread. Not so long back we had a discussion about your internet options in another thread.
Refresh my memory, are you on cable or adsl?
Do you have any other Telstra services,eg Foxtel, mobile service or home phone?
If you do you should be getting $10 discount per service.
Even if you haven't you should of been able to negotiate a better price than that.

Dogger, I'm intrigued....

You ask for the best deal - not one person mentions Telstra but yet you went with them anyway. Don't they own Bigpond? Not having a go, just trying to understand what made you go with Telstra.

Lots of options out there, it's best to do a lot more bargaining/haggling before you sign up!

In all my experiences with Telstra, a $10 dicount means it will cost an extra $100.

My employer pays my mobile phone bill.

Why have a home phone?

I'm happy. That is all that matters Jas... ;) :D

fair enough. I sacrificed some 'speed' for cheaper service and the ability to dodge Telstra at any given opportunity. (Yes, yes, I know, I do have Foxtel!)
