I'm heading to Sydney for the first time for four days/three nights late this month (providing Tiger can get us there lol).

Now, through work, I've got a Sydney Pass (although I've discovered that covers bugger all trains), a See Sydney and Beyond Card and entry to the Sydney Tower and Skywalk (I'm too tight to do the Bridgeclimb).

I've already been given plenty of ideas of what to do, but I though I'd seek some more suggestions from the land of SAFooty.

Catch a ferry from Circular Quay and go to Taronga Zoo. Probably the best zoo in Australia

go for a wander around Darling Harbour and also Kings Cross just for a look

Manly ferry then a walk around Manly

Check out the olympic swimming centre, while you're out that way go a bit further and have lunch or tea at the Penrith Leagues Club, the place is huge, you wont believe it's a sporting club

Honestly, just fork out for the bridge climb.
I've done it 3 times and it's one of the greatest 'touristy' type things I've done.
I'll do it next time I go to Sydney too. And the time after.
Worth every penny.

From memory about $170 and I think it also depends on the time of day.

Prices starts at $188 per adult for a night bridge climb through to $298 for a Saturday dawn climb. Probably going to end up being a bit out of our price range.

Also, as we're only there for 4 days/3 nights, we're probably not going to have enough time for Taronga Zoo either.

So far, we're definately doing the ANZ Stadium tour, Opera House tour, Luna Park (I hope it's not as bad as the Melbourne one), Aquarium, Sydney Tower, and most likely going to go see Wicked (but that's no longer a huge priority as it's coming to Adelaide anyway).

Could do the Bondi-to-Bronte walk.

Day trip to the Blue Mountains if you've got time.

Wander around The Rocks/Circular Quay/Botanic Gardens precinct at the weekend (though give Darling Harbour a miss).

Of course, you can't really say you've been to Sydney unless you've visited Rooty Hill RSL.

Give it its own postcode, dammit!

Tourism NSW study released about two years ago found that the top three tourist attractions in Sydney were the Opera House, Harbour Bridge and...

Parramatta Westfield.

A walk up Darlinghurst Rd after midnight is usually quite entertaining

Apparantly a trip on the Sydney Explorer through that part of town early in the morning brings new meaning to harsh light of day!
